Growth and induction

Hi ladies!
The last measurement that my midwife did showed just a bit under in the chart so they send me for scan. The scan showed that baby is 2.560 kg, at 37+2 weeks.
The placenta works good, amniotic fluid level Is good, and dipper readings are great. I don't have any complications.
They wanted to induce, however I have very strong feelings about induction and in general about unnecessary interventions (as in this case, I couldn't understand why to induce and not let baby grow inside , as I'm only 37 weeks and there is no danger like placenta failure or whatsoever ) so it turned out (after we went with all bags and stuff , and insisted for additional consultation ) that induction is not necessary (basically the previous doctor wasn't right to insist on it, however they said it with other words) and they offered induction for 39 weeks.

I can choose to be induced on 38+6 or 39+5, however we scheduled the first option I really want to wait for natural Labour if everything is fine so far by then and I wonder should I reschedule.

Also, they say that baby is small but the scan can have 15% inaccuracies, and this would be about 300 g or so, so if baby is born naturally at 39+ it s high chance to be 3kg+ as there is no problems so far.

What do you think, I'm really confused and I feel horrible, thinking and overthinking what I have done wrong. I ve read a lot throughout the pregnancy, I move a lot, I eat normally, I was fit prior pregnancy, non smoker , active lifestyle, 26 years old in perfect health. Tell me , how can I make my baby gain more weight?
I feel horrible and think about it all the time. Please , if anyone has experience , share.

You can’t make your baby gain more weight. It’s literally out of your control. I’ve had Hyperemesis in both my pregnancies & barely eat for the first 20 weeks (and what I did eat was beige carbs) yet both my babies grew completely normally.. your baby will grow on its own path no matter what you do. Chances are, your baby is just small. Some babies are. Are you & your partner small? Could be genetics?

That said, the medical teams are looking out for your babies best interests. They clearly have some concerns about baby being small & would rather deliver your baby a bit early. They can do much better monitoring of your baby on the outside world. You are well within your rights however to request they fully explain why they want to induce (as in, what concerns do they have. Baby is small but what are the risks to her health?) & I'm pretty sure you can refuse as well.

Just don’t stress. It’s the worst thing to do before labour.. you really can’t predict it. I hoped for a natural birth but ended up induced, spinal & forceps! At the end of the day, you just want baby here safely Smile
