Too much fluid?

Hi,

So, initially I thought nothing of this because I've had a little bit of fluid all the way through my pregnancy. I'm a first time mum so I don't know what's normal and what isn't!

On Sunday I had a noticeable trickle of water after I come out the shower, I had to change my underwear so it was a little more than what I usually pass. I thought nothing of it because baby is moving and I'm in no pain what so ever other than the normal discomfort we all get. I'm 33 weeks now so I'm assuming this is a normal thing to happen later on in pregnancy?

Wasn't until I spoke to people in work and they told me to get it checked out which made me think maybe it's not normal... I haven't had it since other than the normal amount I usually pass.

I've messaged my midwife and all she's said is if you're worried call the hospital, which doesn't really help as I don't want an unnecessary trip to the hospital.

Just want to know what everyone else thinks and if this has happened to any other mums? :)

Any advice is appreciated!!!

I had the same thing happen to me, seemed like I discharged an unusual amount of fluid. I went to hospital and got it checked out to be on the safe side even thought I felt movements, everything was ok but I would definitely recommend you go as you never know

Discharge can be watery during pregnancy - I have been having it a lot recently, so it could be that. But I would still ring the hospital and get it checked out. It's always worth it to put your mind at ease.

I would get checked just in case. They can quickly do a swab and see if it's amniotic fluid. In case it's not, at least you will know the discharge you have is just normal and will be less stressed.

This is a bit ridiculous. Clearly you are concerned, so surely it wouldnt be an unnecessary trip to the hospital? Worst case - something it wrong and it gets sorted. Best case - nothing is wrong and your mind is put at rest.

Op I would ring maternity triage and make sure it's not your waters breaking

I spoke to maternity and they said it's normal as long as baby is still moving and it's not a constant leak. Thank god.
