Clear blue digital not progressing above 1-2 weeks

Hey ladies.
I'm 5 weeks today well should be. I know dates are accurate as had a FET.
I tested last week one week yesterday and got a BFP on a clear blue digital it said 1-2 weeks. However I've tested three times since and all have said 1-2 weeks. I know that this probably means something is wrong and this is likely a chemical. I was just wondering if anybody had experience the same? If so what was the outcome?
I'm devastated. I was really hoping this was it. We been TCC for 11 years now. We lost baby last year after I was prescribed medication I was allergic too. Even tho I asked and asked about all the symptoms I was having nobody realised I was allergic til it was too late. Even now they say its wasn't an allergic reaction just an "adverse reaction ". But my lips and in fact whole body was swollen, my eyes burnt, my hair was falling out, I was throwing up blood etc I'm unsure how they convinced me all was ok. I feel like Its my fault. Three years before that I was knocked over on the pavement by a truck and lost a baby. I just don't know if it will ever happen xx

Those Clearblue weeks things are absolute bollocks. Please throw them in the bin, they're just stressing you out for no benefit.

If you are really worried, ask your clinic or your GP if they'll do blood tests to measure the rise in your HCG levels. This is really the only way to get accurate information about how things are progressing at this stage of pregnancy.

Best of luck to you, I'll keep everything crossed.

Charlolo · 30/01/2020 10:11

Omg you've had a right old time. I would definitely go into your doctor. also you could book in for an early scan. They can scan from 6 weeks onwards. That might set your mind at ease.
Best of luck x

Pineapplebaby · 30/01/2020 10:26

Firstly, I’m so sorry to hear about all the crap you’ve been through.... xx
Secondly, the digital test that says 1-2 weeks means 4-5 weeks I think past conception/transfer so please don’t expect to see 4-5 weeks show on the screen. It’s also massively affected by the concentration of your urine, etc. Plus, don’t forget that HCG levels only double roughly every 3 days so it’s perfectly acceptable to still see 1-2 weeks for the first week or two. Was your first test 12 days after transfer or was it earlier?
We had a FET that registered 1-2 weeks for 2 weeks and then it jumped straight to 3+ weeks so they’re not that accurate.
As pp says, go to your doctor or clinic and ask for a HCG blood test. They will be able to tell you far more accurately than any home test. With your history, they should be accommodating to put your mind at ease. Hope all is okay for you x

Thank you ladies. It's hard not to worry. Last night I also had some pain. Seemed to be mainly one sided and also in my leg. I'm hoping to get a ring back from gp today. I'm so nervous x

@Ames8 am sorry your going through this, I would go your epu though especially as you have pain on one side it can be a sign of ectopic this is how I caught mine early back Feb my clearblue didnt progress any further than 1 to 2 weeks I called docs who refered me to epu who checked my bloods over a few days and then scanned me as it could mean your hcg arent doubling which is a sign and also that with your pain on 9ne side this isnt meant to scare you but best to be safe than sorry xx I hope everything turns out ok for you x

Ames8 · 31/01/2020 08:18

@KHall84 thank you. Sorry you went through that. It's so stressful not knowing what is happening inside your body. Can I please ask at what stage you caught it please? And how they treat it. I had a gut feeling from the beginning something wasn't right. Hopefully my gp will ring me early today x

OP posts:
KHall84 · 31/01/2020 08:48

@Ames8 I was 5 weeks when as you said my gut just told me something was wrong so I tested with clearblue again and then it took another few days for hospital to confirm this so I was 6 weeks by time I knew for sure then as my hcg levels weren't rising to much they let me see if I would naturally pass it after 2 weeks of not then they gave me the methotrexate injection but during the gap inbetween me trying to pass natural and injection I had to go in every 48hrs to get bloods checked and was pretty much bed rest and light chores so not to cause a rupture, I had no symptoms apart from a slight cramp nothing major and as you said pain down my leg at top and the ckearblue not progressing, I would call your epu instead of waiting for docs as most are self referral any way xx

Ames8 · 31/01/2020 10:56

@KHall84 thank you for advice. I've spoken to GP and he got in contact with the EPU but they said nothing they can do to six weeks. Which I get but you would of thought they would of booked me in for then. Seems silly they haven't. GP said his ringing around to see if he can get my HCG tested. Sorry you went through all that lovely xx

CB digital with weeks indicator are for fun, the week indicator. No women produces the same amount of HCG as another.

Just to say, CB digital said not pregnant when all others were positive and I was correct on dates as dating scan confirmed later. I'm 27 weeks.

Definitely they are nice and seeing the word pregnant is mice, but the stress they caused me and how much they cost, no way I would recommend them.

Betsyboo87 · 31/01/2020 11:58

Have you spoken with your fertility clinic? Mine did hcg testing but I know not all do. They also did a couple of early scans as I had some bleeding. My first was at 5 weeks and we couldn’t see much but there was enough to confirm it wasn’t ectopic.

BlingLoving · 31/01/2020 12:05

I would expect it to say 1-2 weeks for at least a week as it's post conception so at 4 weeks it will say 1-2 and probably continue to say that until at least 5 weeks. With your history however, I don't think it's surprising that yo are feeling so worried and stressed and I hope your doctor is able to get you in for proper tests that are far more accurate and reliable than this. As part of the FET process, is a blood test not offered at 14 days post implantation or similar?

BlingLoving · 31/01/2020 12:05

Oh, and the pain thing - I had that with both DC, resulting in HOURS spent googling ectopic pregnancies etc. From what I understand, it's quite common and is the ligaments etc shifting around in early pregnancy!!

Littlemissdaredevil · 31/01/2020 13:18

My clearblue test never progressed. My daughter is now 2!

ellesbellesxxx · 31/01/2020 13:21

I had twins and didn’t get 3+ until way past 6 weeks! I drove myself mad with those blasted sticks... if you google them they are notorious for causing worry.

itwasalovelydreamwhileitlasted · 31/01/2020 13:33

I have to say that clear blue with weeks indicator have accurately predicted all 5 of my miscarriages - the only time they were "wrong" was my two ectopics

Jojo19834 · 31/01/2020 13:42

Don’t panic, mine didn’t change until well after I turned 5 weeks and there is loads online about this. Now is not the time to panic but wait until your scan, assuming you have one anyway in a week due to FET

Ames8 · 01/02/2020 08:16

@itwasalovelydreamwhileitlasted that's what I'm worried about. So sorry you have been through alm that. May I ask you want the tests did you your ectopics? And what week you miscarriaged ? Sorry to ask such personal questions. I understand if you don't answer x

OP posts:
Ames8 · 01/02/2020 08:21

@Jojo19834 morning. Yeah I have a scan at my clinic on the 13th just seems so far away.
Do you mean you stayed on 1-2 weeks til after 5 weeks? I've read loads about ladies being stuck on 2-3 weeks and everything bring ok but not so much 1-2 xx

OP posts:
Ames8 · 01/02/2020 08:28

@littlemissdaredevil hey hun can I ask what your CB digital never progressed from please? And congratulations on your daughter x

@ellesbellesxxx morning. Them sticks are definitely the work of the devil. They actually make me feel sick with nerves. Awww twins I'd love twins.

@Betsyboo87 morning. My clinic are scanning me on the 13th which seems weeks away. My GP tried to get the EPU to see me but they won't. So my GP is getting my bloods done on monday. I'm nervous. X

OP posts:
Ames8 · 01/02/2020 08:34

@BlingLoving unfortunately my clinic doesn't offer blood tests but my GP is doing them monday.
DR Google always tells us the worst situation lol. I try not to Google everything but I can't help it, same as I can't help Peeing on sticks .

itwasalovelydreamwhileitlasted · 01/02/2020 08:49

@Ames8
All my miscarriages were between 6 and 12 weeks - your hcg has to be a certain level to move onto 1-2wks then 2-3wks and then 3+ I found that if I doubled a hcg of 25 (from when I first got a digital positive) then I could work out when i should start getting the other weeks - with my miscarriages they took a week or longer to change so hcg was only rising slowly

But remember that hcg in urine us lower than blood levels as it's more diluted so it's not an exact science

With my ectopics my hcg doubled as it should so there was no indication something was wrong until I ruptured x

katyyhan · 29/05/2023 16:09
