Hi guys, I'm just finishing off packing my bag for a planned induction and for the life of me I can't think of what I need.

Please help me out...

Maternity pads
Towel and spare night gown for you - I took three
Shower gel for you to shower with.
Babies clothes etc, hat,
nappies
If formula feeding then those ready made milk bottles
Some snacks for you and your birthing partner
I also took my iPad, charger etc

I literally packed for a week and my baby was born on the same day my induction started

I think my big problem is not knowing how long to pack for.. got the baby bag over packed. So you reckon about a weeks worth?

Depends how environmentally friendly you're feeling but wet bum wipes were a delight for me (for afterwards!)
Hair bobble(s)
Card games? Uno, deck of cards etc if your partner/birth partner is going to be with you for a bit
I didn't have an induction but I still packed for about a week! One suitcase for me, one for baby, bag of treats for me and DP.

This was my spreadsheet.... 😂

I LOVE that you have a spreadsheet! Grin I think I'm over thinking this because last time I just shoved some stuff in a bag and all was well.

Maybe it's because I know I might be in for a while?

Would you take your own towel?

It was my first time so I didn't want to forget anything - and ended up using basically none of it!
I took towels and then once I realised just how much blood and bodily fluid was involved (I'm sure no one actually prepares you for that...!) I used the hospital ones!

I was induced twice and packed loads, first time I was in for two night and second time I was home the same day baby was born. Try packing for about 3 days and if you need anything else you can always have someone bring it. Saves you having so much stuff to take him afterwards

Xyzzzzz · 29/01/2020 16:35

I took my own towel and shower gel. That’s what they used to help wash me afterwards.

So far I have -

Pyjamas x 2
Nightie x 1
Underwear etc
Body wash, moisturiser, shampoo/conditioner, toothpaste/brush
Leggings x 3 (for during the day waiting around on the ward? I like to get dressed rather than be in pjs all the time)
Tops x 3
Slippers
Giant cardigan instead of dressing gown
Phone/iPad chargers
Book

Got pads and nipple pads in the changing bag.

Not sure if it would be weird to pack a bottle of dilute? I'm not very good at drinking plain water but wasn't sure if it was a bit weird.

Debating on whether or not I'll need more to keep me entertained. Although could see if I can download a couple of films on the iPad.

Had a stretch and sweep today and am starting to realise just how soon he could be here. The house looks like a bomb has gone off and I'm stressing that we're not organised and this is one small thing I can control.
