So they tell me I have an anterior placenta and won't feel movement till later, however I'm 18 weeks and am feeling him move... anybody else had this? Starting to wonder if i'm imagining this 😯

I have an anterior placenta and I started to feel movements at 18 weeks.

I was only informed I had an anterior placenta at 30 weeks and felt movement from 17 weeks. The only reason I found out was due to going in to hospital for reduced movement and that's when they told me. I can feel a lot movement normally so it's not prevented me feeling movement apart from one occasion so far.

I have a low lying anterior placenta and have felt this baby move like crazy since about 16 weeks.
Think because it's low I still get the benefit of him kicking his legs (now that he's head down)

For me, 16 weeks with an anterior placenta, but nothing consistent until 20 weeks.

I think it's more kicks you will feel later. I had odd flutters but didn't feel kicks til about 22 weeks

Yeah! 17+6 when I first felt him move and he hasn't stopped since! I'm now 24+4

Emberfoot · 26/01/2020 23:23

Jealous of everyone on here lol, 18+6 and not a whisper or flutter yet.

I have an anterior placenta too - and it’s my first baby.
From 17 until 21 weeks I felt small flutters/pops that almost tickled!

First movement where I was like ohh that was def a kick or a jab at 21 weeks. Then increasingly more since then.

If the baby is positioned in the middle of my bump though whilst I can feel them move still the kicks are definitely more cushioned and subtle than the sides. So perhaps at the moment your baby isn’t hiding behind the placenta!

I was the same. I'm now much further along and can feel baby a lot! I was a bit surprised, having been warned that I probably wouldn't feel much, but I guess it depends where the placenta actually is in relation to the baby, and how active/energetic your little one is! I think it's probably best to try not to compare with others and talk to your midwife if concerned.
