I have been having heart palpitations over the last few days. Although they come and go during the day I am still a little concerned. Did anyone else experience this within their first 6 weeks???

I had this one night when I was 5 weeks. HR went up to about 120 and lasted about 20 min then went away. Doctor said that if it happened again to let her know and she'd have a listen but not to worry about it.
Your blood volumes are increasing- perhaps that has something to do with it. Have you mentioned it to your gp?

Yes, I had palpitations for the first few weeks. Apparantly quite common according to something I read, so please don't worry

I haven't mentioned it to the GP yet as I only went and saw her about being pregnant yesterday and they only started on tuesday so I thought maybe it was just the nerves of finding out I was pregnant!

Yes, I had a couple, quite scary but apparently quite common. It made me rather concious of my heartbeat which then made it race even more!

I have had a couple and im 7 weeks with my 2nd. Dont worry about them, im sure its normal. theres 30% extra blood in your body when your pregnant, so wierd things are bound to happen.

I am almost 7 weeks and I have had them, especially when I am lying in bed at night. It is weird!

yes, definately did... The extra blood volume and low blood sugar through morning sickness probably contributed to it. Maybe tell your m/w / GP if it becomes a problem though and make sure you are drinking more water- sometimes that helps keep your blood pressure up.

Thanks all for the advice and reassurance!
