Currently 10 weeks pregnant with DC2.
I had a planned section at 36 weeks with DS1 as I had an infection which was dangerous to us both. As soon as he was born he went on to have lots of issues (long story) which have always been linked back to being slightly earlier than planned.
Because of this I am really keen to let this pregnancy go naturally, obviously if there was another medical reason i would do what’s best for the baby without a doubt!
However after not a very enjoyable first experience I’d love the chance to go into labour. I am researching acupuncture and hypno birthing at the moment.

I wondered if you could share your VBAC stories...
I hear people saying with your first baby you quite often go over due so would this be the same as my body has never experience labour? I have been told you can’t be induced if you have had a previous section?

Any words of wisdom would be great :)

Just to clear the myth of no induction after c-section.

My second was emergency c-section.

Third was induced at 36+4( baby wasn't growing properly and had few reduced movements).although I was given only the pessary for first time mums. I dilated really quickly. Then it took a while to have a beg in a delivery room to break my waters. Once my waters broke, few hours and DD was born.

I see how this pregnancy goes, I will specifically ask if I can be induced about 38-39 the latest, due to knowing the risk of rupture are higher after 39 weeks, plus I can barely move because of my SPD( and I'm only 26 weeks). We'll see.

Thanks @R2D2abc
It was my midwife who said they wouldn’t induce me but I see a consultant at my next app so I’ll ask them about it.
Interesting about you saying the chance of rupture increases after 39 weeks I’ll need to look that up too.
Good luck with your pregnancy I hope you have a happy healthy birth x

Baby number one was an emergency section two weeks early after my scan didn't go well. Baby number two was a VBAC six days late. I had a retained placenta. Apparently this is common after a c section. In my case I 100% blame the stupid midwife who pulled the cord and it snapped for it. Third baby was unknown date and also a vbac.

My second birth would have been great if not for horrible and incompetent midwives. Baby number three I had a student midwife who was better than all the qualified ones I had had at all my births and after. However, I nearly ruptured with baby three and can't have any more kids. I suspect this was due to a crap sew up after baby number one.

Thank you @OP.

I find that you have to inform yourself as a lot of times you might just see a random doctor. So far this pregnancy I never saw my named consultant. Saw juniors and others everyone with their own different opinion and experience.

There is so much medical material on internet about studies on VBAC so I think it's useful you go a bit prepared.

My local hospital had a course every other month for mums who consider a VBAC. I did attend that and found it so useful, the lady who is doing it is so well informed, herself did have 3 successful VBACs. Maybe look into that too.
