I am 20 weeks today with my first baby - I honestly thought by now I'd have felt something - I did go through a phase around 17 weeks of what I thought felt like the flutterings I keep reading about but now nothing at all - is this normal? I have my scan on Wednesday and I'm worried something isn't right

I cannot speak from experience as I'm only a few weeks in with my first, but my friend is due in March and she only start feeling her baby move around about 24 weeks.
She said she felt flutters and bubbles popping my no actual kick, or movement as such.
I hope that makes you feel better! 🥰

I'm 22+3 with my 3rd and just feeling movements since yesterday. I have a placenta at the front which apparently cushions the movement making it harder to feel earlier on.

Depends- where is your placenta? If it's at the front then you won't feel movement until later. Do you have your scan coming up soon?

I think they recommend telling your midwife if you've felt movement by week 23 but from experience...
I never felt my 1st baby move, sonographer at 20 week scan couldn't make sense of it because she wouldn't stay still!! I guess we just don't know first time round what we're meant to feel.
It could be something as little as a flutter or like bubbles popping.
Baby will make it obvious one day when he/she does a backflip or decides to stretch their ENTIRE body out!

With my first I didn’t feel anything until 22ish weeks

Second pregnancy was 16 weeks

I wouldn’t worry yet...it can take longer especially if it’s your first and where the placenta is
