Few symptoms...

Although it may appear a little trivial, I'm worried that I so far seem to have so few symptoms.
I got my BFP on Saturday at 5+5, and other than cramping, some bloating and major sore boobs I don't actually yet feel pregnant or seem to be getting the typical obvious symptoms like the dreaded morning sickness. Is it just a case that it's too early?

I'm an anxious person and am struggling with the idea of going another 6 weeks and feeling like this and not knowing how everything is going until my first scan.

So, I'm looking for reassurance really - have you been in the same position??

Would you advise an early scan? I've seen some people go for a reassurance scan around 8-9 weeks?

I am 6-7 weeks now on my first and I'm the same!! Apart from major bloating, gas and sore boobs the main problem for me is the tiredness!! I feel exhausted most of the time!!

Fingers crossed so far I haven't had the morning sickness!!! Smile

My sickness kicked in at 6 weeks in all 3 of my pregnancies, with varying levels of severity in all 3. You may be one of the lucky ones who just don't get it though!

I had few symptoms at the beginning as well. Just a bit of cramping, tiredness and sore boobs. Those symptoms also came and went so that some days I had no symptoms. The the sickness crept in around week 6 but only on occasion and nothing like some of the awful experiences some people have.

Personally I didn’t go for an early scan although I thought long and hard as I was also worried about my lack of symptoms. I have anxiety and if I they had seen something questionable or perhaps not seen a heartbeat I would have been far worse. I’ve heard mixed experiences of early scans and sometimes they seem to cause more worry than necessary when I look at the posts on here.

Even with the scheduled NHS scans I’ve had, I still only feel relieved by them for a short time before worrying about the next one as it’s my first pregnancy. Obviously you know yourself best and I know many people find the early scans reassuring but it was not for me.

It's probably a bit early for morning sickness. I'm now 10 weeks and had virtually no sickness although I have gone off certain foods. I conceived through ivf so had a 7wk scan (by which time it's usual to see a heartbeat) and then had a private scan at 9wks. With not having strong symptoms either it helped me, there's no way I could wait till 12!
But you do have some symptoms and it's very early so I wouldn't worry too much although I know it's easier said than done!

I didn’t ‘feel’ pregnant til around 6+4 properly , and now most my symptoms have gone at 8+5. No sore boobs (not even a bit), just loads of gas and feeling nauseas in the evenings . Had my scan last weekend and all was fine, a strong little heartbeat . Don’t worry about it , I’ve learned that symptoms come and go . I was like you , really anxious but I saw my midwife yesterday and she assured me unless you’re doubled over in pain with cramps and have bleeding (more than spotting), then that’s when you need to be cautious but even then things can be ok. So try and enjoy being Pregnant and make the most of not having awful symptoms . Huge congrats on your pregnancy xxx

Forgot to add my sickness kicked in at it’s worse around 6+5. Vomiting and nausea all day , then it only started to settle yesterday where I can now eat breakfast without being sick and get through a days work! X

I'm nearly 37 weeks and never had any sickness so not everyone actually has morning sickness (wasn't sick in my pregnancy with dc1 either). All I had was really sore boobs and then fatigue a few weeks later

Remember that lots of people don't get morning sickness at all! Naturally those who do are more vocal about it (with good reason!) but myself and all of the women I know who are currently pregnant have not had sickness (nausea a different story tho!)
