Flu in pregnancy (even after jab)

Is anyone pregnant and suffering from flu right now?i went to the hospital today feeling rotten with flu like symptoms - back pain, aching legs , shivers and loss of appetite.
I'm 30 weeks and had the flu jab months ago, but the doctors said that while the jab is amazing, it can sometimes miss some strains and something is going around at the moment. So they sent me home to rest, take time off work and they think it's some kind of flu rather than a urine / kidney infection (urine test was normal). Baby seems well which is the good news.
Any advice on how to get over this quickly? I have no temperature but feel so awful. Thank you :)

The same way you'd treat normal flu. Fluids, food that you can manage and rest.

Get someone to help you if you can.

Also be super conscious of your babies movements.

Rest. It’s all you can do. Your body is working exceptionally hard right now to grow a baby & fight flu or a really nasty virus. You need to just stop, sleep, lay on the sofa & allow yourself time. Keep up the fluids & eat what you can - smoothies, fruit juice are a good source of vitamins if you have a sore throat &/or no appetite. The more you rest, the quicker you’ll fully recover! If you do too much, it’ll take much longer!
Hope you feel much better soon!

Rest as much as you can. I had swine flu when 13/14 weeks pregnant with DS2 and felt horrendous. The doctor's advice was plenty of fluids and rest - I barely moved from my bed for a week. It was bad, but I'd had a flu jab so did get better after about 7-10 days. It was not as bad as when I had flu as a teenager and barely left my bed for 3 weeks!

I can't imagine how rough you must feel being 30 weeks pregnant as well. Rest, rest, rest! Hope you feel better soon Thanks

We had flu round here and the vaccine did not protect against this strain. Luckily I didn't catch it, but my partner was laid up for two weeks. Fluids, try and get food down you. My partner also had bad diareoh so follow the brat diet if you need to. Wishing you well
