Hypnobirthing - any books or websites you’d recommend?

I’m 25 weeks pregnant and am due to have my first baby in May. I think hypnobirthing is something that could really help me and am keen to look into it. However, money is tight at the moment and I don’t have the cash to spend on a course! Are there any books, audio courses or websites that you’d recommend as a way of learning more about it?

The Positive Birthing Company's digital pack is amazing, if you can't afford that they have a book Hypnobirthing: Practical Ways To Make Your Birth Better but personally the digital pack was so easy to follow and understand

I've read the book mentioned above and found that in itself very useful. You might be able to get tips from that to then find free mindfulness and breathing exercises online, so perhaps start with the book and see how you go.

Online - the positive birth company

In person- I would recommend this route if you are able. Check your hospital as some do reduced/free classes (often KG Katherine Graves Method) or check for group or private classes.

There are a few different schools of thought and what I would say is to check how 'out there' you are in terms of birthing and whether your views fit with whoever is running the class. KG is relatively middle of the road as it is endorsed by midwives. I had a taster session of the Hippo Birth one and found the lady running it to be a bit too against medics for my liking.

The mediations and breathing techniques have been brilliant.

I have not yet given birth and perhaps might need a different route to what I hoped e.g want fully natural, who knows if this will be possible... but I credit this technique for how calm I feel and how much I have enjoyed my pregnancy. Good Luck xx

I downloaded an app called mind the bump from google play which I found useful for relaxation towards the end of pregnancy and in labour.

Another vote for positive birth company digital pack - it really helped me overall (although there were a couple of bits that didn't work for me but it's ok to cherry-pick). The lady who does it is brilliant!
