Pregnancy after miscarriage

Hi everyone :)

I was just wondering if anyone has any advice, I've just recently found out I am pregnant and cannot shake the feeling/fear that this pregnancy will end like my other pregnancy (last year) in miscarriage. I feel like every time I go to the loo I'm expecting to see blood and every little twinge in my tummy is the start of everything. Has anyone experienced this and know of any tips I can use to try and relax myself?

Thank you for any replies in advance xx

First of all - congratulations! I’m also pregnant again after two miscarriages last year. The first couple of weeks after my BFP I was an obsessive knicker checker and convinced every time I went to the toilet something would have gone wrong so I totally get how you’re feeling. If you are able to I would recommend going for an early scan - I went at 6 weeks and saw a heartbeat and then again at 9 - personally I found it hugely reassuring that I could see little bean in there, heart beating away and doing its thing. I’m now 9+4 and feel much calmer about everything. Take each day as it comes - every day that goes by is another day closer to the magic 12 weeks and I’ve found just noting that in my head as I go to bed each night has become my little ritual! Fingers crossed for a healthy pregnancy for you Flowers

Hi Hun, I know how your feeling I’ve had 4 miscarriage’s 1 erupted ectopic and I’m 4 weeks pregnant Confused so i can’t help but feel like I’m just waiting for something to go wrong I’m trying to keep positive at the same time because I want my 10 year old son to have a sibling.

@mable88 @jademoroc thank you for replying girls and congratulations to you both!! I think you're right, I should probably book an early scan. I had one with my last pregnancy and it really helped relax me (even though it didn't end well.) It's also nice to know that I'm not absolutely mad for feeling the way I do lol, I just wish I could skip forward a few weeks and be done with the waiting game x

Woweee I could have written this post a few weeks back!

I was crippled by my overwhelming belief that this pregnancy would end in loss like my first pregnancy ( i do have a 2.5 year old though ) Like other ladies are saying I was a constant knicker checker to the point i was wearing maxi pads ready for the bleeding to begin. Im not sure if it was morning sickness or just anxiety?!

I had an early scsn on xmas eve which showed a lovely strong heartbeat :) we hosted all our family on xmas eve and were going to suprise them all and tell them.. well within literally 15 mins of them all turning up i began to pass lots of dark brown discharge and knew the worst was on its way.

Well ive had 2 further scans since then and the little one is doing well. Just reaching the 12 week mark and can now hear bubba on my home doppler ( no comments from people please!!)

My advice... keep distracted and keep busy. From experience there is nothing that will ease your fear but dont be hard on yourself... its completely understandable.

Have you got an early pregnancy clinic at your local hospital? They are unlikely to do a scsn just for reasurance, but for sudden loss of pregnancy symptoms, pain or bleeding they will. Bear in mind they wont scan you before 6 weeks as unlikely to see a heart beat.

Or like other ladies have said look for a private scsn. My local place does viability scans for £70

Perhaps a little calendar to mark off each day? A visual reminder may help show you how far you have come.

Chin up! Xxx

Same here. Early mc last year and now 13+1. I've had three scans already, one at EPU following lots of cramps, one paid privately and 12 week scan. It's been a roller coaster and I'm still a serial knicker checker!!! As time goes on it's getting a bit easier, wish I could say all the anxiety goes away but it doesn't! Sorry! Congrats tho 😊 xx
