I don’t know what will happen for you but when I was 38 weeks with my eldest I had a growth scan because I’d been diagnosed with diabetes in pregnancy late at 35 weeks so had a growth scan at 36 weeks. At the 38 week scan they were concerned about blood flow to/from the placenta. It was scary as the sonographer told me I mustn’t leave this hospital and must speak to my consultant. He said I could come back for regular scans or as I was considered full term at 38 weeks they could induce me that night and that was his recommendation. I went home and got my bag and came back to start the induction. It didn’t work and I ended up with a caesarean. There’s no way of knowing now if disaster was averted or my baby would have been fine. But my 9 year old is sleeping upstairs so I have no regrets.

Good luck. I hope everything is ok for you and the baby.

At my local MU they did a Doppler scan each time I went for RFM.

I was offered induction at 37 weeks because I had a few episodes plus my baby was growing really little. But I was asked if I wanted so. I guess I could have said let's wait a couple more weeks, but I didn't want to tele any chance.

As far as I know there must be a few episodes happening, especially if scans show nothing to worry.

Usually they see if there’s a reason for the reduced movements like a problem with the placenta or umbilical cord. Depending on the results depends on their management options. Hope everything is ok x

I had this but at 31 weeks so induction wasn't an option! They checked the size of baby, the amniotic fluid levels and checked the placenta was working properly. All was fine so not sure what the outcome would of been if it wasn't. Hope it all goes ok! At least your baby is full term and very close to being here anyway Xx

I had 2 episodes, the second was on my due date. It was Easter bank holiday weekend and was expecting to be told to go back on the Tues but was actually induced there and then.

Good luck op XX

@beach11
did you have any problems with the pregnancy/baby or did they just do it due to having the reduced movements in the first place?? x

I had two episodes of reduced moments, and I had a scan on my due date to check for blood flow from the placenta amongst other things, all looked good on the scan and I'd had a sweep already that day. My blood pressure was a little high and they asked me to keep an eye on it over the weekend, DD arrived on the Monday, spontaneous labour, so thankfully talks of induction didn't happen

I was in twice. Second time they didn’t scan be but admitted for induction as I was overdue.

I'm currently 38 weeks and I'm being induced next Wednesday

Have been to PAU with reduced movements 4 times

1st three times I had a scan the day after, scan and trace was perfectly fine, after the 4th time the trace was fine but they said to save all the worry about her movements being reduced to just get her out instead xx

SavanahXx · 19/01/2020 23:02

I went to the hospital with reduced movements for the first time at 40 weeks. They was happy with movements but also discovered I had a UTI. They kept me in hospital and induced me two days later. I would of been induced earlier if it wasnt for emergencies etc.

My daughter had reduced movement scans from 35 weeks...all scans and ctg monitoring were fine .Docs decided to induce at 38 weeks and baby born very healthy and the birth was amazing without any complications..good luck .X

I had reduced movement with mine. The 3rd time was at 38 weeks so they did a scan as well. All was fine, but as it was the 3rd time and I was considered full term they asked me if I wanted to be induced. I was induced at 38 & 4.

I went into triage with 2 lots of reduced movements in the third trimester, the last was at at 40 weeks. They admitted and started induction that evening.
