Sleeping on front during pregnancy

Everything seems to say don't sleep on your back, Sleep on your side, ideally left hand side.

Then regarding sleeping on front, just says this will be uncomfortable, no reason to actually not do it.

I have been trying to sleep on my left side, and avoid sleeping on my back, but at some point in my sleep I still end up sleeping on my side but kind of semi on my front, squashing bump if that makers sense.

Is baby fully protected in there if I do this? of is he going to be majorly squashed! i don't know how to stop it anyway as Its whilst I sleep.

I have the sane confusion if someone can answer

How far gone are you OP? I used to sleep on my front too and carried on until it was physically uncomfortable for me. Once the bump started to show I found that I couldn't lie that way because I could feel him "digging in". I haven't rolled into my front during the night either - I assume for the same reason. My understanding is that baby is very well protected and certainly, earlier on, will be absolutely fine.

Currently 25 weeks. Have a def small bump now.

I slept on either side, speeling on just left was so incredibly uncomfortable, especially towards the end. The position you describe was my fav, but as the bump grows, you wil not be able to do it, so don't worry about squishing the bump, it will be fine.

I slept on my front (propped with a pillow for comfort) until basically the end of my second pregnancy. If you’re comfortable it’s fine.

I asked this a few weeks ago. Everyone on here said it was fine, but when I asked my midwife she pulled a face and said try not to 🤷‍♀️, no explanation though.

I've since bought a giant 'U' shaped pillow (from Amazon), and it has helped loads. I'm now managing to sleep on my side more comfortably but I do take up most of the bed!

I checked online and everything seems to point to it being safe, it just might not be comfortable when your bump starts growing 🤷‍♀️ I think baby is well padded in there.

Hmm so it seems the same advice of try not to but no reason to actually why not

What I was told is that being on your front was good for not having a posterior baby. I recommend not having a posterior baby.

I am 36 weeks and still sleep kind of half on front. I think baby is well protected. I'd say it's better than back sleeping too
