Baby blankets or sleeping bags

I am quite confused about these two. What’s the comfiest and safest for a new born? If I were to use a blanket can i still swaddle the baby or is it too much layers? And also if you are pro-sleeping bags, considering I am due May and living in London, should I go for winter sleeping bags or summer sleeping bags?

Please help out a first time mama!

We used cellular blankets up until a few weeks old, then she's been in sleeping bags ever since. They're an absolute godsend. She's very much one for kicking the blankets off, so now she stays nice and snug all night long.

Temperature wise, we're keeping the thermostat in which ever room she'll be sleeping in. So there's no worry about it being too hot.
