How early did you go on maternity leave? I'm 26 weeks and can't wait. I hate my job and I don't want to go back after the baby. Just interested to know when anyone else went on maternity leave or if anyone went on it early?

This time round I will have c section booked for week 39

As it’s my second and dc1 is only 2.5 I want to spend as much time just the two of us before baby comes so I am using up annual leave to finish work at 35 weeks so will have plenty of time together

I will go at 29 weeks. I'm currently 26 weeks with twins and suffering terrible PGP. I don't have any toddlers to look after so it's purely the pain...

31 weeks. I am 35 weeks now. I would have stayed right up until due date if I actually had something to do. I absolutely love my job, I am a boat builder, but because it’s a male orientated place I guess they didn’t really know what to do with me lol and I had literally been sat to stare at a wall all day every day. I had to let them know ASAP when we found out I was pregnant due to the chemicals, so doing that from 6 weeks I think I did my fair share of staring at walls. I’m not even over exaggerating... Couldn’t bloody stand it anymore LOL

So that’s 2 months early and planning on taking the 39 paid weeks, and return part time from there. But partner and I will reevaluate closer to the time.

Good luck with everything.

Boat builder - what a fantastic job. Sounds so interesting!
