Long time lurker but this is my first post,
I am currently 7months PP after an emergency c section (no trial of labour as baby was in distress) and I am so broody.
My consultant and midwife have all said to wait at least 12 months before conceiving again, but I really want another child soon.
I do not want another C section, as I do not want to be limited in the amount of children that I can have in the long run.
My husband feels the same way as I do, but I wonder, are we mad?
Has anyone had a Vbac so soon after a C-section or would it be too soon to trial a Vbac? Have many people had children so close in age? I am young myself so I have plenty of time, but I just have this strong urge to grow my family.

I had emergency section then got pregnant when first was 9 months so 18 mths between then hit I had planned section second time. I don't plan to have anymore and wanted a section second time anyway so slightly different situation. I was told they would prefer me to have a section as it was so soon after my first.

Give your body time especially if you want VBAC as there is a risk of scar rupture.

Just enjoy the baby you have for another few months. They are only little for a short time. Enjoy the one on one time without throwing a pregnancy & all the shit symptoms that come with it into the mix! Start trying at 12 months. You’ll still most likely end up with two under two!

I’ll never regret the special time I’ve had with my daughter over the last 2.5 years .. I’ll never have just one again. I’m looking forwards to my second arriving in March but equally feel quite sad at the loss of life being a little family of three! One is also a lot easier to navigate. Fancy a date night, Granny happily babysits. Fancy lunch with friends. Daddy looks after DD. Dinner with a visiting work colleague, Daddy can easily do bedtime for one. And vice versa when Daddy goes out. Trying to one toddler dressed & out the the house, takes about 600 hours & full blown negotiation. Throw two into that mix and it’ll be harder for everyone! 😬 worth it buy still much harder!

The baby stage is the ‘easy’ bit.. you’ve got all the fun & games to come 😉 just enjoy what you have, you’ve been given sensible medical advice. 4/5 months really isn’t so long to wait to start trying!
