9 weeks pregnant - bleeding

Hello

I am about 8/9 weeks pregnant with my first baby.

Friday evening i started bleeding. It wasn’t a lot but it was pink/red and enough for me to put a pad on. No pain and it stopped within an hour but I have had on and off brown spotting all weekend. I went to an out of hours GP yesterday who wasn’t overly concerned but advised I get my GP to arrange a scan at the EPU.

Has anybody else experience this? I’m worried sick that it’s the start of a MC.

Hi,

I'm 7 weeks with my first baby! Congratulations. I remember one of my friends had that around the same time and rushed off to a&e for an emergency scan, turns out everything was ok. As far as i know (and im a newbie so its not much) it doesn't always mean MC although i'm like you and worry about it too!

Hope everything is ok!

Definitely get checked out, however I have a positive bleed story.
I started bleeding at around 10 weeks, it was bright red- again same as you, not loads but more than i would expect in pregnancy! I then had spotting pretty much most days for 2 weeks! Some days it was brown, others pink or sometimes even red. I then had my 12 week scan 3 weeks later and everything was fine!
I did see the GP at 10 weeks after the initial bleed and they wouldn’t refer me as I had no pain with it. So the 3 week wait to my 12 week scan felt long. When I told the midwife sonographer she said I should have kept pushing for a scan for reassurance.

It’s so worrying, I really feel for you. I had the same thing and got a scan through the EPU to find I’d had a blood clot and everything was fine. My consultant said it would either properly go and I’d have a subsequent big bleed which wouldn’t damage the baby or it would get reabsorbed and thankfully it was the latter. The sonographer must have thought we were mad, we were sure it was all over and when she found the heartbeat we both started laughing hysterically with relief Grin

Hopefully it’s nothing worrying and you’ll get good news so get a scan ASAP. If it’s not then you’ll be in the best place at the EPU. Lots of us had similar and it turned out okay, crossing everything for you Flowers

Thanks ladies.

I've spoken to two Drs, one on the phone and one in person, and neither were overly worried as I've got no pain and the bleeding wasn't super heavy, but you can't help but think the worst. Also did a pregnant test this morning which showed positive within seconds.

How long did it take you to get a scan at the EPU? I am half tempted to book a private scan.
