Bras in pregnancy

Another newbie question from me... what do you do about bras in pregnancy? My boobs are obviously getting bigger (week 14) but at the moment I'm still using my normal size bras - the two most comfortable ones. Should I get remeasured? And surely my boobs will keep changing? I looked up 'pregnancy bras' online but it was all about maternity bras / nursing.

I bought slightly bigger, soft stretchy ones. Just cheap from Asda.

My boobs have never been enormous so I didn't need much support, and comfort was the main objective.

Honeybee85 · 12/01/2020 13:56

I bought a stretchy one (2 white and 2 black ones) and wore them continuously during pregnancy.

Cazzy198 · 12/01/2020 14:13

I'm 21+2 and I'm still wearing my pre-pregnancy bras and they are still the most comfortable. I have also bought a couple of soft wireless ones just in case which are slightly bigger.

I ended up a j cup by the end of my pregnancy 😱
I got some really supportive yet non-wired ones from bravissimo. They weren’t nursing bras but were very pretty actually.

My boobs are pretty 'generous' anyway but are growing to huge proportions at the minute and I'm not even 9 weeks yet!
None of my bras fit so I'm living in a stretchy sports bra (or going bra less) for the time being.
I'm reluctant to buy any new bras too soon incase I keep growing and dont get much use out of them!

Caspianberg · 12/01/2020 14:28

Mine haven't really grown at all yet. 24 weeks. Have swapped to wearing my non-wired ones though as comfier with bump and a read you shouldn't wear wired ones for some reason.

Letsallscreamatthesistene · 12/01/2020 14:28

I got ones from Aerie (American Eagle). They do a fantastic non-wired range.

OneTooManyBathtimes · 12/01/2020 14:32

I wore stretchy sports ones from Primark.

mrssunshinexxx · 12/01/2020 14:36

Op, no reason you can't buy some nice comfy nursing ones and wear them now x

Lf89 · 12/01/2020 15:01

I'm living in sports bras at the moment, I don't own any normal bras, I was an A so all I ever wore was bralettes, now I'm a C already at 10 weeks so think I might need to actually get a normal bra at some point!

Williams3001 · 12/01/2020 15:24

In the books and guides I've read, they recommend that you get measured twice during your pregnancy as your boobs grow, though to hell if I'm going to buy a new set of bras twice in the space of six months! You can get maternity-only bras, though they're difficult to find (I've only seen them online). The maternity/nursing bras are designed to stretch and grow with you as well as being used during nursing.

I'm currently down to two bras that fit me; my boobs are really a half-size and fluctuate with my cycle, so I have two that are a cup size bigger anyway. I'm seeing how long I can last, then I plan to buy some soft, non-wired maternity bras that I'll just wear through pregnancy and breastfeeding. I was recommended these from Seraphine: www.seraphine.com/en-gb/samantha-pack-seamless-bra-pack.html.

Nics23 · 12/01/2020 15:36

I’m 9 weeks, already quite busty and none of my bras are comfortable now🙈 living in stretchy bralet things and planning to get measured in a few weeks

mumma2b2020 · 12/01/2020 16:25

I purchased a few non wired bras and found these to be much more comfortable than wired ones I used to wear pre-pregnancy. Got one from M&S, primark and Asda - nothing too expensive. Im 28+4 and been measured once already, will get measured again early Feb x

SprogMaker · 13/01/2020 01:19

I'm going to go and get some new bras, but I'm struggling to think what to look for - I'm 6 weeks and my boobs have swollen up a little bit already, but unevenly. I've had to wear stick-on bras the last few days as my nausea has been so bad and the tightness of a normal bra has been making it worse. If I go soft cup, my lopsided boobs will be obvious, but the underwire ones are just not cutting it with morning sickness.

Ah prego problems hey!

LividLaughLove · 13/01/2020 06:08

Molke.

I’m evangelical about them. And I STARTED as a 34JJ.

SuziGeo · 13/01/2020 06:17

I bought new bras twice during pregnancy. The first my back size and cup size had increased and I also wanted to get some underwired ones. I got 3 in a sale cause didn't think it was worth paying a lot or buying a lot, knowing I was probably going to get bigger. The second time I needed to go up a size it was later in pregnancy so bought nursing bras, a couple normal style and a couple stretchy sports bra style, also some nursing vest tops (my boobs were never huge do these offered enough support when I was just in the house/relaxing).
