Similar to the other thread, how old are the fathers of your children? My dh will be 46 soon and I'm 35. We're not pregnant yet. It would be second for me and third for him

Scubalubs87 · 13/01/2020 13:19

We’re both 32 and I’m pregnant with our second. We had our first when we were both 30 but just shy of our 31st birthdays - our birthdays are very close to each other.

PrinnyPree · 13/01/2020 13:20

I'm 37 he's 38 it's our first x

GlamGiraffe · 13/01/2020 13:24

My husband was 63 and I was 42 with our most recent baby. (I already hear the shock waves of MN as usual🙄), so definitely some older parents.
In the central london hospital we went to we were very surprised to find out we weren't actually very old compared to their usual demographic which is much older parents. I asked about it and was told most of their mothers are in their 40s with a large number 45+ and partners tend to be much older. It's probably because it's a hospital dedicated to complex pregnancies.

golddustwomen · 13/01/2020 13:29

YessicaHaircut · 15/01/2020 11:28

This is our first, I’m 37 and DH is 43. He’ll turn 44 a few weeks after baby arrives. It’s taken us 3 years to conceive though and I lost 2 pregnancies before this one (currently 17+2).

Bookworm83 · 16/01/2020 01:25

I'm 36 and it's my first baby. My husband is 34 and it will be his second.

flossy12 · 16/01/2020 02:12

Ravecat · 16/01/2020 06:22

I'm 29 and he is 28, expecting our first! Smile He loves to point out that I'll be 30 by the time baby is born and he will still be in his twenties. Haha

MrsRocket · 16/01/2020 15:42

I'm 27, (28 when baby arrives) DP just turned 39. First baby for us both

Kayjay2018 · 16/01/2020 16:00

@toomanyleggings I'll be 38 and DH 52. I already have a teenage DS, this will be his first. DH is fitted now than he has been in years - dog walking and swimming.

MySonThePotato · 16/01/2020 16:22

I'm currently pregnant with baby number 2. My husband is 45. He was 44 when our first child was born. We deliberately chose to start trying for number 2 quickly because of my husband's age. He is in excellent health (better than me, and I'm in my 30s!) and has plenty of energy so I'm not concerned about his age at the moment. We are also both well established in our careers, which is helpful!

However, we were keen to complete our family fairly soon, as we would like the option of retiring when DH is in his mid-60s and I'm in my 50s!

Mangopassionfruit · 16/01/2020 16:51

My dad was 65 when I was born however was very young for his age. My mum was a lot younger. I think it kept him younger for longer as he had more of a purpose. He died in his early 90s a couple of years ago.
