I've just made a few calls and am surprised how many companies wont cover travel past 26 weeks. I'll be 29 weeks when I travel next, can anyone recommend an insurance company to contact???

I posted a similar question here a while back - probably in july. Do a search on my name and you should come up with it. I followed the suggestions but came out with the decision that noone would cover me. I think when I flew out (to Spain) I was going to be 30 weeks and when I flew back I was going to be 32 weeks. One place would cover me for the first week but at great cost, but that was it I'm afraid.

In the end I just made sure I had the E111 sorted and got other travel insurance to cover possessions.

Wow, thats unbelievable! I'm doing a one way trip home, could you tell me the name of the company that would cover you? Thanks

Make sure they cover both you and the baby. It is not enough to just cover you alone if you go into premature labour.

Has anyone actually managed to get travel insurance?

I do have an annual travel insurance, but I am only 13 weeks yet. And we did not know we would be expecting a little bean

Anyway, my policy's wording is
"Pregnancy: No cover shall
apply in respect of any claim arising from pregnancy within 8 weeks (or
16 weeks in the case of a known multiple pregnancy) of the estimated
date of delivery."
I thought this was pretty standard wording, as our last year's policy was the same.

potoroo is dead right. I have just realised that I do not think it would cover the baby.

There was a thread on last month. Recommended medibrokers. The thread had the phone number. They will insure. I was 31 -33 wks whilst away and there was no problem with covering. Sorry I don't have the phone number any more. Hope you get your insurance

American Express Travel Insurance (free if you have their platinum charge card) will cover you as long as you are within 8 weeks of due date on return.
