HELP - How can you deal with nausea [envy]

I am 8 weeks from NHS calculator but from my clear blue says that I am 5-6 weeks and I am dealing with nausea daily! I haven't had my morning sickness yet but I always feel ill with nausea which causing me eating not so healthy diet when I am trying for the sake of the baby.

Helppppp me... any advice to tone down with nausea? I already been to the doctors and they said I don't need tablets to help me unless it gets to the point where I am unable to drink or eat. I feel like I want to stick my finger down my throat and get it out (but I won't cos I hate being sick).

My doctors gave me the equivalent of travel sickness tablets but this was after it was clear the sickness was here to stay for the whole pregnancy! I also wore travel sickness bands. I think it was the movements of the baby that made me feel sick though.

Eat allllllll of the carbs :)

It's a bit of a cliche but I'm in the same boat and ginger tea is really helping me - lots of fresh ginger root, a bit of lemon, sip all day. Coke is also good. Although I'm craving carbs I find what I eat doesn't make any difference to how I feel so I'm trying to stick to the fresh fruit & veg etc as it's healthier. Mind you my sickness isn't overpowering, it's just there underlying all the time.

Ginger biscuits, I ate those

I'm 11 weeks, I've had horrible nausea since week 6. Yesterday I went Dr's and she gave me Buccastem. I've had the best 24 hours since I started those tablets. Literally amazing to feel normal again.
I've not been sick but the nausea is debilitating, they should prescribe you something.

Heya,

I'm 12 weeks pregnant and I've had bad nausea. I'm not sick, but I feel so sick. I find that it's 100% worse if I'm hungry. In the mornings I struggle, I really have to force myself to eat because I feel SO bad but once I've eaten something even something small I start to gradually feel better. Try snacking small but often, I carry around grapes and cucumber slices as they're light on the stomach but as soon as I have a wave of sickness I quickly eat one and it subsided. Hope that helps you, it sucks!!! 💕

Thank you guys! I will try them all Smile guess my doctor isn't helpful at all but I will see my midwife end of this month (first appointment eek!) and see what she/he got to say.

I can't even cook dinner anymore cos of the smell make me feel ill eugh. My DP cook dinner all the time now haha.

@lovelyjubbly12 That is how I feel at the moment nightmare!

Pregnancy nausea is awful whether it's accompanied by vomiting or not. Unfortunately there's no miracle cure but things that have always helped me: plenty of sleep and rest (tiredness made it worse)
Try to keep hydrated (with whatever you can stomach)
I know not exactly the weather for it but ice lollies or cubes seemed to help
Its often a fine line between hunger and nausea but try not to let your stomach get too empty, little and often helped
Failing that I was prescribed cyclizine for all 3 of my pregnancies, which again wasn't a miracle cure but made it slightly more bareable

I found just plain dry bread helped. Brown wholewheat esp....
Water made me sick too, so the bread helped a lot.
I lived on ice poles to get fluids and always took my multi vitamins.
I totally get the feeling of wanting to make yourself sick....! It does make you feel better, but its a short term relief.
Try getting some ranitidine too, its an over the counter thing and super cheap. I was on omeprazole before pregnancy, but its not safe.
Hope you find something that works!

My nausea isn't too bad, in that I haven't actually vomited ever and I only get nausea about a quarter of the time. Been doing all the ginger and other stuff, doesn't work much.
But I rang my GP and just said, prescribe me cyclizine for my morning sickness please (no waffle, moaning about symptoms etc). He goes, yeah ok. (No quibbling whatsoever, I think he appreciated me being brief) He told me I can take up to 3 a day and I've been coping on 1 a day. Job done! Whole conversation lasted 2mins. Just ask firmly 😅

Umberta · 10/01/2020 16:37

The only self-care that works for me is dry crackers and (weirdly) diluted pineapple juice. But the cyclizine works. Hooray
