Hi all

We are currently in the process of moving, and are due to complete 🤞🏼 when I will be 28wks (mid march)

Has anyone got any experience of completely moving NHS trusts at this stage in their pregnancy?

We are moving from SE London to South Oxfordshire... So I'm presuming somethings will be different!

Thanks

I don't personally have experience of this. But my sister moved and completed(got the keys) at 1pm on 18/10/19 she went into labour later that day and gave birth to twins that evening at 32+3 so I hope the move goes better than hers:)

I moved during my first pregnancy.
I signed up with my new gp and they referred me to the midwife. I had to redo the whole booking in appointment (despite being 26 weeks pregnant) and redo bloods. A part from the hassle of redoing the booking appointment, it was easy and straightforward.

I moved out of the UK but to a country which still has an NHS at 34 weeks. Was absolutely fine. Registered with a GP the day after I arrived and was referred straight to hospital. Had seen a midwife and a consultant by 36 weeks (and this was over Christmas). I worried about it but there was absolutely no need.

Hi, I moved houses when I was 25 weeks pregnant. We moved from London to Berkshire. Few days after I moved I registered with GP and told them I'm pregnant so they gave me a number to call to book my 28 week appointment.

Like PP mentioned - you will have to redo your booking in appoinment. I was a bit surprised that different Trusts don't share any information between them. I was admitted as a late booker even though I had had all the appointments in London. Don't know if it's a standard procedure everywhere but I also had to have 2 additional blood tests to confirm my blood group, have a appointment with the consultant who checked my London notes and checked my scan results.

And the biggest change was the change of notes. I loved my London notes, there was so much information there.

Thanks all, that puts my mind at ease!
Hopefully I will get the option of a couple of hospitals.. I believe I'll be catchment for John Radcliffe in Oxford, and Swindon.

Im booked for a scan at 36wks, as I'm having my scans at Kings, so I wonder if that will be off the cards 🤔

Exciting to move, but nervous apprehension as well, as I have all my appts booked, and the PRUH seems to have a great system.
Not sure if other trusts use the Maternity Notes app?

@rotarua oh I love my London notes system too... Hopefully it wont change too much.
Its so easy having everything on the app, and access to information.
Ive got my 28wk midwife, and 28wk Anti D jab the day before we complete, so at least that will be done and dusted.

I moved at 37 weeks. It was fine. Took my (London) notes with me and was fast-tracked into a GP locally rather than waiting to be assigned one. They just assigned me a midwife and she called around for a catch-up and arranged visiting the local maternity unit etc.

The only hitch was because I had a specific condition for which I'd had to see a consultant anaesthetist in London to plan pain relief. They had to phone the local one at 4am to double check - he still remembered me when I turned up with the next pregnancy.
