Normal? Or should I get checked out?

I am 35+1 today and just yesterday I noticed that walking suddenly became a lot more uncomfortable. Not sure if baby has descended further but I noticed that I was having to waddle significantly more!

I'm also worried that I'm starting to get period-like cramps in the lower part of my bump. Is that normal at 35 weeks??
I've had that as well as lightening crotch and an increased need to empty my bowels (sorry tmi) recently.

Might be completely unrelated, but to top it all off, since Sunday I'd come down with a horrible head cold. Stuffy nose, lots of sneezing, heavy/watery eyes. Some threads that I have read have said that this can be a pre-labour sign!

My question is, is all of the above normal at 35 weeks or should I go in and get checked out?

I have an appt with my consultant on Friday, shall I just hang on until then and mention all of this there? Sorry if this post seems a little silly. I'm a FTM and worried about baby making an early appearance.

I think it’s likely it’s all normal BUT because you’re questioning it I’d give your midwife assessment unit or triage a call and just talk it through. None of us can say if it’s definitely normal and having the medical advice will reassure you if it is normal.

Definitely call and speak to a midwife. Lots of the things you've listed could be signs of oncoming labour. Definitely better safe than sorry at this stage. Xx

You can always call your midwife or MU. They'll be able to look at your notes and symptoms and tell you if you need to get checked. I find that that's the best thing to do. They won't call you in if not worried, but they're the people to ask for advice.
