Hi everyone, first timer over here so sorry if this is a stupid question.

I'm almost 7 weeks and saw my doctor last Friday who has referred my details to the midwives, does anyone know how long it will be until I hear from them?

Usually you get a letter or a phone call to make a booking appointment at around 10 weeks. If you’ve only just been to the GP I’d leave it a week then chase it up.

I had my booking appointment at 9 weeks, NHS says it should happen by 10 weeks. I've had to chase a few of my appointments, found clinics are full up, had to call quite a few different midwives to get things booked in etc (and had appointment today cancelled at short notice with no new appointment offered...). I would give it this week but start chasing it early next week if you haven't heard anything.

I just rang up booked in at 8 weeks for the first midwife appointment, I always arranged midwife appointments through gp.

You could ask for your local midwife helpline and call to see when they would like to see you.

I didn't see her until week 10 (which is normal). I got a letter in the post, sent second class about two weeks after my GP referral. I wouldn't panic yet, there's plenty of time. You may also get a separate letter for your 12 week scan or the midwife might organise it at your appointment, it just depends on your health authority.

I spoke directly to the midwives, but then in my area we can self refer.

If its policy in your area to go through your GP id give it about 2 weeks then chase. I think I had my booking appointment at about 9 weeks.
