Baby clothes

Just realised I should probably start buying more baby clothes for my little boy due in 2 months! I've looked at next, M&S etc. Just wondered if there were any other nice places that sell baby clothes or any nice online boutiques? 😊 I've got plenty newborn so will be looking for sizes up!

H+M do some good stuff!

katmarie · 04/01/2020 22:47

The nicest baby clothes I've had have come from m&s, next, and sainsburys believe it or not. Boots also have some nice choices in bold colours and patterns if you want something other than pink/blue.

popcorndiva · 04/01/2020 22:48

I would wait if I was you as you will get lots gifted.

I liked H&M for their leggings with feet ..means you don't have to worry about socks

MrsSokhi · 04/01/2020 22:48

Matalan is lovely xx

BF888 · 04/01/2020 22:49

Zara do some lovely bits, and some really well priced. As another comment says H &M, also there is GAP and Mango kids.

Boymummy3 · 05/01/2020 00:04

I love asda George stuff... It's cheap and good quality stuff and they always have a good range

PPopsicle · 05/01/2020 00:06

John Lewis, next etc
But mainly just have vests and sleep suits. Everything else is a waste of money IMO until they’re older

ATmummy · 05/01/2020 02:08

John Lewis have sweet bits sometimes slightly pricey though.

BlueEyedFloozy · 05/01/2020 02:15

I loved Boots clothing - nice bright colours and designs, washed lovely and accurately sized.

I wouldn't go mad buying though as you will probably end up being gifted loads and it's nice to get out later in with your baby and choose stuff that's practical for you.

With my first we bought lots of nice outfits - my second was in baby grows, footed leggings, vests and cardigans until she was cruising at 7 months as it was just easier.

I found Asda quite good for bright colours and the multipacks are great value. H&M sizes seemed a bit on the small side so i don't rate them much

Morrisons
Sainsburys
Primark
H&M
Boots

FirstTimeDS · 05/01/2020 03:18

Asda are amazing. I got loads of really cute stuff there. Lots of bear themed things for boys at the minute

PatricksRum · 05/01/2020 05:04

Mamas & Papas. Just beautiful.

Russell19 · 05/01/2020 05:11

I love GAP and M&Co

EmmaJR1 · 05/01/2020 05:47

Next are good but run big. M&S, ASDA and Joules do some lovely things. Different price points obviously. Tesco have some nice stuff but I found it ran small.

LucaFritz · 05/01/2020 05:53

Haven't mama's and papas closed down ? Thought they went not long after mothercare

Danetobe · 05/01/2020 06:21

Sainsbury's for us 🙂 Dont go overboard though - babies grow so quickly they will only wear the things 2 or 3 times, maybe less if you have lots gifted too. Save the money for trips to the local baby play area/coffee shop/cinema trips on your maternity leave.

Napssavelives · 05/01/2020 06:29

I don’t rate Asda- they shrink.

Sainsbury’s

Jojo Maman Bebe have gorgeous baby bits, although some of it is a bit formal for me.

I also love Frugi as it's totally different to any of the high street stuff. It's very high quality organic cotton with lovely bright prints and child friendly styles.

These are both on the expensive side but as you asked after "boutiques" I'm guessing that's OK! However due to the cost I wouldnt buy much in sizes smaller than 6-12 months.

Bibbidybobbitysplated · 05/01/2020 06:38

Handmade online stores

  • Lottie and Lysh (you'll get £5 off your first order if you get recommended by someone so join the FB members group if you like any of it)
  • Little Loves Cornwall
  • Teddy and Me
  • Popsy and Mama
  • Lovebee baby (currently closed while she moves house but the most beautiful baby clothes)

And loads loads more

They cost more initially but Lottie and Lysh in particular sell very well second hand through the right places so actually you loose less money

zaffa · 05/01/2020 06:40

Hi!
I recommend going to Sainsbury and stocking up - rather than buying expensive one or two cute bits, spend that money on loads of sleep suits and vests for the first month or two. I sometimes have to change DD three times a day (she is such a spitty baby and also loves to wee once nappy is off during s change...) and have so many cute sets but had to make an emergency run to tsco to buy a couple packs of sleep suits. It's taught me I'd rather have 15 Sleep suits than three cutesie outfits that are impossible to get her into.

Shantotto · 05/01/2020 06:42

High street I really like Boots and Sainsbury’s.

But I mostly buy the Scandi brands such as Duns, Mini Rodini, Smafolk, Maxomorra, Vilervalla etc. Very different from UK kids clothes! Yes expensive but sell well and huge second hand market. They’re also organic, ethically made etc.

Oh and I like JoJo Maman Bebe and Frugi too!

00100001 · 05/01/2020 07:00

I agree, vests and sleep suits are all you'll need!

Might want to get a woolly hat and cardigan or two etc for outside

But seriously, look for easy clothes.
Little dressers/trousers/dungarees etc, all very cute, bit a real PITA.
