I have my elcs next week. Previous was an emcs so I'm aware of what it may be like but all the same a little nervous. I have 1 day, the day before, which I will have 8 hours completley to myself, without my two year old or DH. I can no longer drive really as I am too big and uncomfortable. I don't want to waste the day by worrying, nor spend it doing a thousand chores. Without sounding like a martyr I am so not used to having time alone that doesn't require me to DO something!

Any suggestions?

Maybe go see a film and out for a nice lunch with a friend (maybe ask them to drive though!)

Engard · 02/01/2020 19:49

Depending on what you can walk to, I'd get my hair done, have a facial, pregnancy massage, nails etc anything to make me feel a little less shocking in my hospital gown!
Best of luck, enjoy your day.

You could get a facial, book a mobile hairdresser for a haircut and pamper.

JoJoSM2 · 02/01/2020 19:53

I’d also get pampered. Lunch with friends sound great too.

Cinema! Lunch out. Wander round the shops if you’re up to it.

SnoozyLou · 02/01/2020 20:21

Get some goodies in and bingewatch whatever I fancied.

I am knackered most of the time, and struggle to remember a time when I wasn't though 🙂

iamtinkabella · 02/01/2020 20:51

sleep every last minute while you can Grin

MustardScreams · 02/01/2020 20:52

Sleep! If you go out and have facial/hair etc it’s pretty much guaranteed your waters will go and it’ll be a mad dash to the hospital.

Someaddedsugar · 02/01/2020 20:53

We went for a lovely lunch and a look around the shops. I then re-packed my hospital bag for the millionth time!

Katjolo · 02/01/2020 20:56

Pamper day, cinema and early night

userabcname · 02/01/2020 20:56

I went to the cinema and then went home for a nap. Enjoy!

I'd spend all day watching tv and sleepingGrin hope you enjoy it and the birth goes well! I wouldn't go with the suggestion of getting your nails done though, as midwives we have to ask people to remove nail varnish etc before surgery. Some people have nails that can't be removed but that can make monitoring difficult and in the rare event of you becoming unwell, we'd want to see nail colour. Not to be a Debbie downer or anythingBlushGrin

HungryForSnacks · 02/01/2020 20:59

Agree with the facial/hair/pampering theme. (Remember you can't wear nail varnish for your CS though).

A lunch somewhere nice sounds lovely too

Justasconfusedwithnumber2 · 02/01/2020 22:14

Thanks! I'm just weighing up where I can get to easily - last thing I want is to pick something nice to do then realise I end up knackered getting there and back! I like the cinema/pamper idea. I'm now fixating in food too as it may be a few days before I eat anything decent, and a very long time before I can eat with two hands if my dc1 is anything to go by 😂
