Pregnancy ball at 26 weeks

I'm 26 weeks and suffering from very painful rib ache. I've been bouncing on my pregnancy ball this evening to try and ease the pain but have just read that bouncing can induce labour! Now I'm panicking that it'll make me go into early labour..... is this possible?!

Not likely- many ladies exercise while pregnant and don't go into early labour.

It can help but your body needs to actually be ready for labour in the first place I would persume.. I don't think you will go into early labour I used my ball for several weeks with me 2nd before I actually gave birth to him..
On another note is bouncing on the ball not going to make your ribs worse?

A fellow rib sufferer here! It’s awful isn’t it, so hard to get any relief!

I’m sure you are fine, I got my ball about 30 weeks last time & baby was a week late! Your body will only go into labour when it’s ready, it’s all down to hormones, not bouncing on a ball. I think there is some suggestion if you are gearing up for labour, bouncing can encourage the cervix to do its thing but again, not without the hormonal change as well!

You can use the ball during anytime in your pregnancy, unless your doctor advises you not to. At my first physio appointment this pregnancy ( at 16 weeks) I was advised to sit on a ball instead of a chair at home. I have SPD.
Important thing is to make sure the ball is the correct size for you, in a way that will actually benefit you.

It won't cause labour, only once your body is ready will help baby descend nicely and become engaged, but won't cause you labour.

Should be fine if you’re having a healthy pregnancy. I started using it early on in pregnancy for yoga & just sitting on it vs couch & was fine.

I think they're fine for a healthy pregnancy. I used one with DC1 much later in pregnancy to get things moving, it didn't. The only time I'm a bit 🤔 is when people with threatened premature labour start bouncing on them.
