Just want some advice - bleeding

Hi! I’ve been trying to conceive for 6 months. Christmas Day thought I’d take a test as I’d had possible implantation bleeding and it was positive (as were two others, just to be sure!). I am 5 weeks and have other indicators such as sore breasts, bloating and feeling sick. Last night (NYE) I had some light spotting for about 3 hours. It’s gone today but I’ve had some cramping in my lower stomach and back which feels like period pain and also like I need the toilet. I know lots of people have started threads like these before but I (stupidly) read so much conflicting information online I just want some help and guidance. As I’m so early on in pregnancy I’m reluctant to ask friends or family as I haven’t told them yet. Please let me know any thoughts you might have. Thanks so much.

You need to have a scan, I went to my GP and they booked one for me. Good luck.

I'm 11 weeks and just had my first midwife appointment she said she's fine with any pink or brown bleeding but not bright red. Crampy pains are normal because everything is stretching. Just keep an eye on it. With my first I had a little bleeding and ended up getting an early internal scan at about 10weeks but all was fine. Try not to worry I'm sure if it was something bad it would be much more bleeding and there's not really much that can be done anyway. Xx

Thank you all. @Joopy is there any point in going to the gp when I’m only 5 weeks, would it not be too early?

I went to my GP at 6 weeks due to pain and got sent for a scan. However, as a few people say, a bit of spotting and cramping is quite common. To be honest there isn't much you can do but sit tight and wait. If you get more much more bleeding or significant pain, I would contact the GP. They might send you for a scan at 6 weeks. My midwife said bleeding is biggest concern and not to worry too much about crampy type pains. Fingers crossed you don't get any more bleeding and the cramps stop, and you don't need to do anything!

I went to my GP at about 5 weeks to get booked in (why not!) and then had a scan at 6 weeks because of cramping. No need to suffer in silence!
