i've been having these pretty consistent cramps some are on and off but most are constant. i have had some BMs. due to pressure. They are getting worse but i've been told they're "normal" is this true? is it just cervix opening or thinning or could it be labour. it's all around my back and lower stomach. any advice?Smile

Sounds like the beginnings of labour to me! Good luckFlowers

35 weeks and same as you. I've been told it's Braxton hicks getting worse towards the end but no harm in giving your midwife a call if you are worried

thankyou! i will ring in if they continue i think. i thought they might be normal but part of me would kick myself if i didn't say anything and they weren't!

I'm same been having them from 32 weeks now 36+3.. Painfull braxton hicks. I keep thinking it's the start and then they die down again. Good thing is not long to wait now but it is worth giving triage a CL if they get worse and down trail off

Period type pains are the start of labour. Braxton hicks are more like the whole bump being squeezed and squashed.

I'm not sure, I've never really had period pains in my other 2 pregnancies but with this one I am also getting quite strong period pains on and off and have also wondered whether things were starting! This has been going on since about 35 weeks and am 37 now so it wasn't the start of labour for me :)
