Hi ladies,

Just what the title says really. Have you noticed any changes in your body in terms of preparations for babies arrival? Any signs? Any plans on induction/inducing natural or c section?

I will be 36 weeks at the weekend and have a growth scan on Friday (big baby apparently) and to check if he's still breech. If he is I'll be be booked for a section at 39 weeks. If he's not, they'll give me a sweep at 37 weeks followed by induction. I'm not feeling too nervous but I'd just like to know one way or the other now!

Dandelion3 · 01/01/2020 08:19

I'm 39 weeks first baby. Feel quite impatient now !! But baby seems pretty settled so I don't know if it'll be a while longer ...

Thatsnotmynameisit · 01/01/2020 13:35

@LucaFritz I feel exactly the same, I can sleep but I'm waking every half an hour or so. I want it to be over with and for my baby to be here but absolutely terrified about labour too?? Confused

Thatsnotmynameisit · 03/01/2020 21:29

How's everyone doing?
I had a growth scan today and have been booked in to be induced tomorrow!!! Shock baby is measuring small and no signs of her wanting to come on her own as yet so have been advised this is the best.. so scared!!

SexlessBoulderBelly · 03/01/2020 22:14

Baby Mabel was born on New Years Eve at 2:21pm weight a hefty 4pounds 8oz!

We are so so in love 🥰

Anyone due in the next coming weeks?
CloudyVanilla · 03/01/2020 23:31

Huge congratulations!!!! She is absolutely stunning Halo

CloudyVanilla · 03/01/2020 23:34

And I’m also wondering how everyone is doing :)

I’ve been admitted to hospital due to going in for RFM last night and discovering baby is lying transverse with his feet down and they don’t want to risk me going into labour :(

Won’t try and turn him til Monday and failing that they want to keep me in until a c section at 39 weeks. I have 2 other little ones at home so am feeling pretty down about that :/

stormy11 · 04/01/2020 09:08

@CloudyVanilla how many weeks are you?

My baby keeps turning around to all different positions. From transverse to breech to being head down - but I think it has moved out of that position now Confused. I’m worried it’s going to keep going round in circles lol.

tisonlymeagain · 04/01/2020 09:31

My breech baby has turned at my 36 week appointment so I'm now on schedule for a vaginal delivery. I am booked for my first sweep at 37+1 so I am hoping he stays where he is meant to be!

CloudyVanilla · 04/01/2020 10:17

Hi @stormy11 I am 37 + 3, and I’ve also had 2 normal deliveries, so they are concerned that if my waters go, things will happen quickly and the risk of cord prolapse is just not worth taking as there is no way to deliver a transverse baby.

I was upset yesterday as was told if procedure isn’t successful they will want to keep me in until a c section at 39 weeks; but I have a four and two year old at home who I am missing already. I’ve been in since Friday so a C section at 39 weeks plus recovery would mean staying in hospital for like another 2 weeks :(

How many weeks are you? I think that pre 36 weeks they are not fussed, but at around 36 - 37 is when they should be making a plan and taking options.

My little ones feet are presenting and are right down where his head should be Confused at first they thought he was just footling breech but a presentation scan showed his head is sideways, legs are the other side with his feet bent under and facing my cervix, so basically the most awkward position ever Hmm

Definitely speak to your midwife; I was having growth scans which confirmed he was head down at 34 weeks and I thought well that’s a relief!! I would also make sure you are offered a scan as midwives can get it wrong through palpation alone

CloudyVanilla · 04/01/2020 10:17

@tisonlymeagain good luck, hope he stays down for you and that your sweep is successful Halo

stormy11 · 04/01/2020 10:39

Hi CloudyVanilla, oh I hope the procedure is successful for you. It must be so hard to be away from your LO. That would be a very long time to stay in hospital - yourself and babies health are important.

I’m 37+2 weeks, I have a midwife appointment on Wednesday - as the baby moves round so much they want to keep an eye on where it is. Would be nice if it was still head down but I definitely know it wasn’t yesterday.

Hi @tisonlymeagain I hope the baby stays in the right position for you and good luck with your sweep. Let us know how you get on. Smile

Thatsnotmynameisit · 05/01/2020 16:15

@SexlessBoulderBelly congratulations on the arrival of baby Mabel. She's beautiful.

I gave birth on Saturday 4th January at 12.48pm to a 6lb baby girl, we have named her Eva.
The hospital rang me on friday night at 10pm - said they were quiet! Shock and asked me if I wanted to go in then instead of the next day.. so I did! And gave birth on my due date too

Good luck everyone x

MrsJ1906 · 05/01/2020 16:20

Congratulations all on the births of your babies, they are all beautiful! I’m 39+1 today and feeling rough, like I’m getting ill, sore throat, nausea, aches the lot, I’m so ready to be done. Booked for a sweep on 14th at 40+3 so praying she decides to come herself before then!

Napqueen1234 · 05/01/2020 16:28

Congratulations on those who have had babies- beautiful! 38 weeks here which feels weird as first DC was early so already born but now and I feel ‘overdue’ even though I might have a while left! Constant period pains on and off- does this mean anything? Now Christmas and NYE is over I’m done I want this baby out!!

MrsJ1906 · 05/01/2020 16:30

@Napqueen1234 I’ve had period like pains on and off for a couple of weeks and no joy as yet!! Keep me updated!

Napqueen1234 · 05/01/2020 17:05

Will do @MrsJ1906 and you me! I didn’t have this at all with DC1 so very strange!

Tittie · 05/01/2020 17:06

Congrats to those whose babies have arrived already!
I'm due on the 10th (this is my second) and the fear is setting in Blush
I've had twinges and some period like pains for a couple of weeks now and keep going to bed thinking 'it could all happen tonight'...and then of course it doesn't!

CloudyVanilla · 06/01/2020 14:54

Awh glad to hear babies have arrived, congratulations all Halo

I'm still here waiting for my attempted ECV Confused hoping it will be good news!

@stormy11 hope everything is going well for you and that you're being looked after by your MW

stormy11 · 06/01/2020 21:04

@CloudyVanilla have you had your ECV yet? I hope it all goes well for you.
Waiting for my MW appt is driving me insane. Wednesday can’t come soon enough.

Congrats everyone on LO safe arrival. So cute! FlowersFlowers

CloudyVanilla · 07/01/2020 09:16

Nearly there now @stormy11 Halo

ECV was by some miracle successful!! They will be scanning me at some point this morning to see if he has remained head down Grin

If he has I should apparently be able to go home, if not they will try and turn him again and then get the induction process started :O

Thoughtlessinengland · 07/01/2020 09:34

Awwwww lovely babies!!! Congrats!! Cloudy vanilla congrats on the miracle!!

Have posted my own thread but no reply yet - anyone else innsimilar boat here or had ideas for me?

DC1 arrived naturally at 37+4. Waters went 35 hours before he arrived and first 14 hours after waters went there was nothing happening.

Today at 37+3 with DC2. Since yesterday Braxton Hicks have completely changed and become painful. In the sense that was having lunch with a friend and had to double over my coffee and stop talking for 1 minute. But said Braxton Hicks only coming every 2 hours or so. Early this morning have woken up with what can only be described as PMS pain. Aching thighs, lower back and lower tummy. Real feeling of “period is coming” “where are my sanpro?” - v v v familiar monthly feeling. Have had a paracetamol now as ache significant.

Is this labour ish signs you think? My comparison point is a PROM rupture of water with nothing painful for 14 hours and then mega proper contractions in hospital so this feels very strange and unknown although yes it’s DC2.

Any wise thoughts?

Tittie · 08/01/2020 23:15

I feel really nervous tonight (butterflies in my tummy) and can't get to sleep. I normally drift off with no issues. I'm 39+6...has anyone had similar feelings and gone into labour that night?
