We're having our first baby and live in zone 3 in London in a flat up one set of stairs.
We'll have a car for very long trips but most days I'll be walking/bus/tube/train.
Any advice for anyone that's been in this situation or has looked into it alot? I have done some reading up and have a John Lewis new parents tour booked in but already feeling very overwhelmed!

Defo Bugaboo Ant! My second choice would be baby zen yo-yo. You can also take them on flights in the overhead which we found super useful. We live on the third floor with very steep stairs so had to have something small and light.

No advice OP but watching with interest (I’m also a Londoner expecting my first!)

Small, lightweight and folds in one piece. That is your priorities for London life.
Parent facing, carrycot, roomy shopping basket = lovely but for using public transport in London these usually have to be sacrificed.

I was in the same situation when I had DS1 2 years ago, same zone and first floor too!

We bought and still use the bugaboo bee5 and I've got to say it is awesome. I was still carrying it up the stairs at 8mos pregnant and DS fits in it now and he's a big 2 year old. It's really light and folds down easily and quickly and best of all it fits behind the bar on the bus in the wheelchair area whereas other buggies can't.

If we were buying a new one I'd take a look at the Ant too as that wasn't available when we bought our Bee5.

Only downside is that it's not as good on rough terrain as other buggies, but it never claims to be an off road buggy. It's always been fine in the park though.

We don't drive so can't comment on that apart from that it's a small buggy so I can't imagine it being a hassle to fit in a boot
