When to worry about movements

Currently 19 weeks. I have felt movements but haven’t felt anything for days and when I was feeling movements they were really light.

This was really different to DC1 one. When is it time to worry?

My scan is in 3 days but I can’t be seen sooner

When I felt a lack of movement at about 20 weeks I rang the maternity assessment ward and was basically told there was nothing they would really do even if there was a problem and it wasn't unusual to have very sporadic movements at this stage. I did get a midwife to listen to the heartbeat a couple of days later and it was fine. Not sure if this helps! You could ring midwife for advice?

Isn't it like 24 weeks where you get the movements chat from the midwife? 19 weeks seems a little early to reliably detect movements IMO. But if you are worried get in touch with your midwives. If it were me I'd hold off for scan.

That’s the thing, as the scan is on Tuesday and I’m in Wales at the moment (I live in England) I probably wouldn’t actually get seen by anyone on Monday anyway :/

24weeks at earliest they say as there is no pattern established until 28 weeks but this pattern starts to show from 24 weeks at 19 weeks it's to early and the baby is still so small that you might not be feeling all the kicks depending on there position x

Ok thanks all!

I had a miscarriage before this pregnancy so I’m especially anxious this time around :)

So I had my scan and all is fine!

Turns out my placenta is at the front so I wasn’t feeling as much.

Just updating incase this is use to anyone else!

I also have an anterior placenta. Only just recently (last week or so) felt movements I am sure are the babies. But they are gentle! I’m 19 weeks

Glad to hear everything is OK!
