When to start buying baby items?

I'm 15 weeks. The sales are on and there's some good deals, but I feel it's too soon. Am I going to kick myself for waiting?!
I've got a couple of baby clothing items but I'm thinking more about "bigger" ticket items like breast pumps or baby gyms etc.
FWIW I'm not having a baby shower but family are buying travel system/ nursery furniture so I'm not worried about those items.

You get them whenever you want. No right or wrong time to buy and if you se a bargain then why not :)

If personal choice I'm 15 weeks and haven't brought anything yet but that's just me I'll start picking bits up when I'm 20 weeks as I want to find out the baby sex, but like the above person said there no right or wrong if you see a bargain your be mad to let it go

Get bits whenever you feel like it! I was told by loads of people to start earlier so you can budget better, didn't listen for fear of people thinking I was doing too much too soon and then basically bankrupted myself for two pay packets 🙈

Mothercare have really really slashed their prices, I think tomorrow is their last day before closing but today I got about £400 worth of items for £110 so defo worth getting there if you can!

Whenever you want, don't believe any superstitious nonsense. Congratulations!

I kept buying because of sales etc, but there are always sales and bargains so don't stress! If you see things you like now, they'll probably be in the sale by Easter. So I'd wait or only buy things you really really like.

I bought things whenever I wanted to because I knew I wanted a baby and even if I lost the one I was carrying I would still try for another one so would hopefully need the things eventually.

We brought everything super early, we were literally ready by 28 weeks. Everyone laughed and made comments about how early we had brought everything and I was shunned for not waiting ‘to see what people got me for my baby shower’

Turns out we had to cancel the baby shower because my placenta has issues and we were told baby needed to be delivered within 7 days, at 33 weeks.

Thankfully been having fetal medicine scans every week, shad been steady until now and just starting to drop off again so c section is booked for Tuesday when I’ll be 37+4.

But whenever you like! We also made decisions based on finances at the time. We both had fairly good careers, but my OH does a lot of work on the side and when he gets a lot of work to do in the evening or weekends he gets a good lump of money so we decided to use it for bigger items like the travel system and nursery furniture.

I don’t regret getting anything when we did. :)

As early as you like, spread the cost. Superstitions are just daft, & even if you are the sort of person who wants to find out the sex of the baby before buying things, surely that won’t affect everything? Look out for good deals and things you like that aren’t in large or chain stores. I have some lovely clothing items and toys from small shops that I got when I was on holiday, the chance to buy if I had waited would have probably gone!
