I accidently just had 3 pieces of soft cheese with pesto which my mum bought in Asda. Do i need to worry? I'm UK based.

You'll be fine! Try not to stress over everything or it'll be a looong 9 months!

rosegoldivy · 25/12/2019 12:14

Youl be fine.
I found out at about 27 weeks you couldn't eat soft cheese or pate and I'd had a fair bit throughout whoooooops

DD perfectly healthy and happy!

When I was pregnant some years ago I spent some time in France and I'm pretty sure they weren't funny about eating soft cheese, surely the risk is miniscule but either way it's done now so I'd say forget about it and enjoy the day and the rest of your pregnancy

MustardScreams · 25/12/2019 12:18

Soft cheese as in cream cheese? The little canapé bite things you can buy?

It’s fine! It’s just unpasteurised cheese that is s tiny risk.

Look up the NHS advice and follow that. Please don’t worry.

RealMermaid · 25/12/2019 14:52

Cream cheese is fine, it's just mould ripened soft cheeses like brie that you're advised against. It's still a small risk, try not to worry too much!

ISaySteadyOn · 25/12/2019 15:17

You'll be fine. I have been pregnant three times and had the occasional soft cheese. The three results are, for a wonder, not arguing in the living room. :-)

McHelenz · 25/12/2019 16:17

I've had roule/boursin a couple of times, I thought it was fine.

I have some for later so...🤷

no please dont worry. in my country that is given on maternity wards

kevintheorangecarrot · 25/12/2019 16:20

You'll be fine! You'd be shocked with the stuff I consumed during my pregnancy and touch wood, he's absolutely fine.

sqirrelfriends · 25/12/2019 16:21

Most french women carry on eating soft cheese in pregnancy. The baby will be fine.

Pipandmum · 25/12/2019 16:23

When I was pregnant I hosted some French and Spanish women visiting through work and I asked them if they had the same recommendations regarding food. They looked at me as if I was mad. Cheeses, raw eggs, meats, even booze (within reason) was not an issue.

dementedpixie · 25/12/2019 16:29

What sort of soft cheese? Its mould ripened and blue cheeses you need to be careful with. Those are ok if cooked. If its pasteurised soft cheese with no rind or mould then it's fine to eat

dementedpixie · 25/12/2019 16:31

www.nhs.uk/common-health-questions/pregnancy/are-hard-cheeses-safe-to-eat-during-pregnancy/ this gives info about soft and hard cheese
