Possible auto immune disease diagnosis

Hello everyone, I'm just wondering if anyone has been through something similar.
Between December 2018 and August 2019 I suffered 3 miscarriages, 1 at 8 weeks, 6 weeks and then 5 weeks.
I've been having all of the tests done. Scans came back clear, the only thing that came back abnormal was my blood clotting. I had repeat bloods that showed no change so I was referred to Hematology.
The blood specialist thinks it's likely that I've got an auto immune disorder like APS. I've just had another set of bloods done but won't get those back til the end of feb when I go for my next appointment.
I'm just wondering if anyone has had APS or another auto immune disorder and has gone on to have a healthy pregnancy?
It's taking so long to get answers and I'm losing hope.
Thanks

Can you try aspirin, progesterone and cleaxane? That's what I was on when they suspected similar. turned out they misdiagnosed! I had 4mc and 2 dd' s.

@CottonSock hello I think they will discuss these at my next appointment, they mentioned the injections and progesterone suppositories. Did you have an auto immune disorder on the end? Sorry to hear about your miscarriages

Hi OP,

I have an autoimmune disease called Graves Disease which I've been battling with for 5 years. It affected my thyroid massively and made me overactive. To cut a very long story short, in the end I had my thyroid removed in January. I'm now on daily meds and my levels were declared normal back in September. Fortunately, we fell pregnant straight away. Now even though I've had my thyroid removed, I still have the autoimmune disease Graves Disease and it's antibodies in my blood. Due to this I give blood regularly to check my levels and I'll need more scans so they can monitor the baby's thyroid. I'm 34 and I'm 15+3 weeks, baby is fit and healthy this far. Once they've figured out if you have an autoimmune disease then they can set you on the right path with medication. I wish you all the best and try not to worry (difficult I know) xxx

They diagnosed me with anti phospholipid syndrome ... But turns out the lab had made an error and I didn't have it after all! The first line treatments for recurrent miscarriage are those 3 things anyway. Worth trying for sure.

@Hodge85 thank you for replying. Congratulations on your pregnancy. Thank you, I'm hoping to get my results in a couple of weeks🤞🏻 I'm just very impatient, the waiting part is the worst

@CottonSock thank you, when I have my appointment in 2 weeks I'll mention those to them - I'm willing to try anything at this point

I have a rare clotting disorder that causes preclampsia that the NHS doesn’t recognise (but thankfully my IVF clinic did and treated me for), ‘developing’ autoimmune disease of the thyroid (likely hashimotos), and another ‘developing’ autoimmune condition (likely colitis). I was able to conceive and maintain the pregnancy with daily injections of low molecular weight heparin, 75mg of aspirin, steroids until week 12, progesterone until week 16, and carefully monitored thyroxine dosages.

I would suggest you reach out to both an endo and a gaene at your hospital in addition to the hem for your protocol, as you will likely need them to inform the fetal medicine consultant / obstetrician when you do get pregnant.

@GrumpyHoonMain thank you, I am under a gynaecologist at the minute. She was a bit useless at my first appointment though. She just said she doubts she'll find anything wrong with me and will most likely just need lifestyle changes😕 However I have "prolonged aPTT" according to my recent 3 blood tests. I've got another appointment (with the gynaecologist) in a couple of weeks to get the results of blood tests checking for abnormalities in my antibodies etc so fingers crossed I get some answers
