Have you tried all the usual things that get them moving like cold drinks, sugary snacks, rubbing the bump and lying on your back?

if you are realy concerned then you need to phone the antenatal clinic or the maternity ward

it may just be that baby is in a diffretn position at the moment. You could try putting a cold can on one part of your bump for a while, might make baby move a bit.

Also, lie down for a while (half an hour maybe) and just concentrat eonyour bump. you might see movements/feel movements if you are concentrating onlooking for them.

if you are really really worried then ring your mw for advice

Hi Didsnbump, I just want to reassure you that this can happen and all be well. When I was 20 weeks with my ds, I had a very very active baby and when I went on a short haul flight, the baby went loopy, non-stop moving for the whole time. But afterwards I felt nothing. For three days I was getting more and more anxious about it, but finally went to see a midwife and she hunted around and found the heartbeat, the baby had just moved to a new location - behind the plactenta, and hence why I could not feel anything. It was another few days before the baby moved again and I started feeling the kicks again. But at 20 weeks the midwife said they still have plenty of room to float around and find hiding places. It does not stay that way for long, they soon fill up the space.

But my advice to you is to ring your midwife (or the hospital maternity unit if you cant get hold of her) and get her to listen for the heartbeat, at least that way you will know if all is ok or not. I really hope that you come back and tell us soon that all is ok. I can understand you not wanting to wait till monday.

Didsnbump, I'm sorry your feeling worried about it but it is early days to be feeling consistent movements. I had this as well around 19 weeks (had been feeling movements since 15 weeks) and due to my previous MC history I was really worried, but bub had just moved right to the back and wasn't touching anything, just free-floating.

But, please call your community MW tomorrow. She should be able to come out and see you and have a listen for the heartbeat. In the meantime try not to worry.

Let us know how you get on.

Hi - from my understanding, you are still far too early for your LO to have developed any kind of routine. At about 32 weeks they start an activity routine and that is when you start keeping an eye on any changes in fetal movement patterns. At 20 weeks it is still totally random, I didnt really feel the baby move til about 22 weeks.
If you are getting really worried, then head into hospital to have a trace done - but I am sure everything is ok.

I called the on-call MW yesterday and she told me to go straight to the maternity ward to get it checked which i did. Fortunatly everything is fine and bab is doing really well. He/She just starting kicking again this afternoon, so much so that hubby felt it for the first time. So thanks everyone for the advise x
