Cyclogest for incompetent cervix

Hi,
I am wondering if anyone has any experience of using the Cyclogest pessaries for treatment of an incompetent cervix?
I have been told I have an IC at 23 weeks, I have declined the stitch as the I am too far along to carry the risk and am currently taking progesterone pessaries. My daughter was born at 32 weeks hence the monitoring this time around.

I am interested to hear about anyone's experience of this. I'm really worried! X

Yes me, I was started on cyclogest at 24 weeks as my cervix had shortened to 2.4cm. I had three pessaries a day, I think they were 400mg, can't remember. I was signed off work at 32 weeks because my cervix was very soft and baby engaged, kept going with the pessaries until 36 weeks. Stopped them, and although I was then 1-2 cm dilated at 37 weeks, DD stayed put until 40+5

It's really good to hear that someone has had a good experience with them! There doesn't seem to be a lot of people who have travelled that route as they get the stitch early enough. Fingers crossed for 40 weeks!

Yes was also told too risky at that stage to have a stitch. Hope all goes well with your pregnancy, and baby stays put for you. Pessaries aren't pleasant, but hopefully will be worth it for you :)

I found out I had a short cervix measuring at 7mm which is very short at my 20 week anomaly scan last week! I was kept in and after checking for infections via blood tests, I had a cervical stitch and I am now taking cyclogest 200mg everyday and will continue taking till I give birth. I have read so many success stories about them prevent contractions, here's hoping it works x
