Hi
Yes i know of all the stigma around dopplers and we shouldnt use them etc. But i just have a query on the sounds.
Ive read that the whooshing wind through tree noise is placenta, but can it be anything else? Does your body make that noise anyway? And why does it move?

I have no clue as I never have had one and wouldn't personally ( no judgement here though of course its personal preference ) but when I've been to midwife appointments I've never heard a whooshing sound when they are listening to baby so not sure what that actually is for you. Hopefully a midwife or Someone trained in doplers are available and can give you some help :) x

There are lots of sounds that your body makes. You have a large blood vessel (aorta) running top to bottom so it could be that. But obviously without listening to the noises you're hearing, it's impossible to say.

My mw did the doppler on Friday, it sounded like a windy day in there! She didn't explain but it's normal. Found the heart beat on the other side

I have one, and have heard lots of wind through trees noise i read it is the placenta! But i have heard it on both sides so who knows.

On YouTube there are a few videos comparing the sound of the baby, placenta, your own heartbeat, umbilical cord. I found that helpful when I used one. WRT controversy I just put it away when I reached a point that I should have been getting medical advice for s any worries rather than trying to reassure myself at home.

@mefabgirl if you're early in, the sound could be wind in your tummy, later on thou I think it's the placenta. Some arteries sound like that also.
