What should my baby sleep in?

I’m so confused about what to buy - a cot, a Moses basket, a Snuzpod or something else?

My plan is for the baby to sleep in my bedroom for the first six months before transferring to their own room (is that what most people do?)

I also want to buy something that will last them as long as possible, as I’m on a fairly tight budget.

I’m taking the baby on a week-long holiday when they’re eight weeks old to a holiday cottage with no cot facilities (so will need to take something for them to sleep in) and will be getting there by train and hire car at the other end.

Any suggestions?!

I got a next to me crib but we ended up co sleeping, as she wouldn’t sleep in the next to me and she was in a pod. However, she’s in her next to me now and I use a bean bag for downstairs.

I had a chicco next to me crib for my dd, which was fine as we didn't travel much but was quite bulky on the few occasions we needed to take it anywhere. I'm pregnant with my second and I plan to buy a baby elegance travel cot from smyths as the side comes down like the next to me but with all the convenience of a travel cot. We have a few trips away planned next year so need something easier to pack up than the chicco. It's full travel cot sized though so may not be any good if you don't have much space.

I got a snuggle with the air cot extension. Will last baby until 2 after which he can choose his next bed as part of the transition to his big boy room.
