Anti-D is it needed?

I'm rhesus negative and my baby is positive so I have to have the anti D injection in January but was told any knocks/bumps to get it done before.
I have a very protective cocker spaniel who loves to lay very near/on my bump. Normally he's gentle but he just got up and pushed his paw on my bump, am I overreacting or do I need to get it done?
I know they are well protected in there but anyone had an experiences with this and having a dog?
I'm 21 weeks currently.
Thanks! X

Its normally trips and falls and really hard knocks to the bump that would need anti d. I don't think what you've described necessitates one

As above, I'm sure you're fine (I also have 2 rescue bulldogs who sometimes knock my tummy) but unless they properly jump onto your tummy I'm sure you're cushioned enough. Have you got a pregnancy unit / midwife out of hours number you could call to check?

Yea I think I'm overreacting but still worry.
He didnt jump on me but not sure how far to go with if he knocks me and going to have the injection.
I do have a number I can call but feel I may be being silly. I may give them a call just in case.

Thanks!

The risk comes if you and the babies blood mix - that might come from bumps/falls where your tummy is hit. A bruise for example on arms and legs is not an issue.

@londonkate thank you, I'm just wondering how hard the bump needs to be to warrant the injection?

I'm also rhesus and have been in a few times for anti d over 2 pregnancies. One was someone shoving me in the bump, so there was a blow to the stomach. Another my son threw himself at the bump and whacked it. They told me to come in if it's anything which could cause bruising, eg seat belt injury. I wouldn't think you would need it this time but if you're worried do phone for reassurance

@ejmay I think if the bump was in your tummy then I'd phone the midwife... no harm checking. But unless it might have damaged the placenta then you don't need to worry.
