Impaired placental blood flow

Just had my 20 week scan. I'm 20+5 today.

The baby seems fine, but I showed an impaired placental blood flow. I have low PAPP-A. And high risk for a small baby.

I was really hoping they were going to say everything looked great.

I have to go in for growth scans at 26/30/34/38 weeks and will likely have an induction.

Has anyone showed impaired placental blood flow and had a successful pregnancy and healthy baby?

She said the word stillbirth and it's terrified me.

Obviously you will feel concerned, but it is actually a very good thing that your hospital are on the ball & have picked this up. By doing serial scans to check continuing rate of growth and the placental flow they are working to keep baby safe.
If this had not been picked up your baby may have been at risk. Knowing there is the potential for issues means that extra care will be available - it doesn’t mean that things will go wrong. Extra checks and being super careful are to prevent stillbirths. The risk for your baby has now been reduced by making a clear plan.
You have every reason to look forward to a safe and successful pregnancy. Try to be thankful for the amazing work of your maternity team.
