Hey,

What's everyone's thoughts on being a stay at home mum?

I'm in a position that I can do this I'm just not sure it's the right decision.

I really want to spend everyday with my girl until she goes to nursery then I will go back to work.

Should I feel guilty if I don't go back to work? 😔

No. Not if that's what you want. It's better for baby to have mum there as much as possible. When I go back to work it'll be just for sanity probably as won't pay me much to go back at all. (Full time nursery being £11-13k)

But no, don't feel guilty for wanting to be with your child if you can manage it financially. Who exactly do you owe to work? The government to pay your taxes? With nursery so expensive it's hardly with going back sometimes! And though I don't mind paying taxes at all, but i work to have a roof/food/warmth and entertainment and if you can afford at least 3 of those then don't feel guilty.

And sod everyone else.

If you don’t want to work & can afford not too, then go for it. You shouldn’t feel bad.. the only thing I’d potentially consider is your pension. Obviously you’d loose a few years.

Personally, I love work. And I have managed to strike a good balance of 3.5 days working and 3.5 days with my daughter. Work saves me sanity 😂

But that’s just me, some people are cut out for one thing & some for another! You do you & def do not feel guilty for doing so!
