Looking for pram recommendations please :)

Must be good for walking as I have a couple of dogs. Also, I want it to be quite compact and be suitable from newborn to todler ++

Thanks in advance :)

I have an egg and it's been used daily when walking my dog. It's light, really easy to manoeuvre and it's easy to push over grass and up hills. Mine is always going in and out of the boot too and folds up nice and small and is easy to do so.

Comes in lots of colours too which I love.

We’ve gone for an oyster 3. Packs down compact but nice and sturdy

I have the egg as well. I walk for miles with it as I don't drive. Dd is still very comfortable in the pushchair seat at age 2 and has plenty of room to grow. I've just set it up as a tandem for when second child arrives and it's very easy to use in that configuration and still pretty compact

Bog standard Maclaren worked for me up to 3 years old. Lies flat for a newborn and sturdy.

City Mini GT! Amazing pram and so good on rough country tracks. It folds really easily with one hand too. I know a few people that have bought one after being disappointed with their original pram and they all rave about it too.

Uppababy Vista - was brilliant for walking in the Countryside, brilliant shopping basket, used it for DD until she was 3ish then passed it down to her baby cousin so it's def getting its use - dead light to steer but sturdy too.

Agree with uppababy vista! So comfortable and easy to steer. Huge wheels and great suspension. Fits two if you very need. But not the most compact!

I have a baby jogger city mini GT and it's amazing! One handed fold (I'd buy it for this alone as no disassembly needed when you're jumping in the car with whingy baby in the rain), great for off road, really big UV hood and will last to upto age 4 if you want it to. I was also given an Oyster which I enjoyed using with the carrycot in the early days but the GT wins every time.

@Celebelly & @Cakeandslippers... thank you :) I was looking at this one!! So, without sounding dumb (this is my first baby & I dont have any babies around me to know!)...do I need the carrycot addition or could I just have the car seat addition? Thanks :)

We didn't have the carrycot but we did have a lie-flat car seat with adaptors to fit on the pram. Babies shouldn't be in a car seat for too long, especially newborns, so it's generally not a good idea to use them on a pram for too long unless you have one that can lie flat.

There are quite a few infant car seats that can lie flat on the pram and I'd personally recommend paying a bit extra to get one of those as we used ours pretty exclusively on the pram for the first six months and it made life really easy. It meant we didn't have to worry about length of time baby had been in the car seat.

Yes, I'd say you will need it. The pram is technically suitable from birth as it does lie flat however you won't want a new born forward facing and strapped in so the carry cot will be really useful. Not ideal to keep baby in car seat for long periods, even the lie flat ones so the carry cot is good for long walks / outings, or when baby falls asleep while you're out. There are 2 carry cots available, I will say the compact one is very compact! But I think you'd be fine with either because you can move baby out of the carrycot wherever they are ready due to the lie flat option.
