I've been vegetarian for over 10 years.

I'm 5+2 and have recently been having a bit of a debate with my partner (who is not a vegetarian) about this as he wants me to start eating meat for the duration of the pregnancy. He thinks I'll be depriving the baby of certain nutrients and it's selfish of me not to give the baby a varied diet with everything it might need.

What do you think? Is he right? Should I start eating meat again? Not sure I could stomach red meat but i'd probably be ok with chicken or white fish if I thought it would be good for our baby.

I'm veggie and 29+2. Iron levels are fine. Might be worth getting them to test your B12 levels. Mine were a little low so got a course of 4 weekly injections which sorted it. Other than that, baby is perfectly average in every way and no other issues in pregnancy.

@sandytoes84 try the Wetherspoon’s Vegan burger if you’re craving meat, honestly it’s really good.

& the Iceland vegan range is great too.

I'm reading a book called 'Your Complete Vegan Pregnancy' by Reed Mangels and finding it really interesting in concisely listing require nutirients and where to find them. It's non-preachy, fact based and very helpful - I highly recommend!

It's available on Amazon. I recommend your boyfriend reads it too.
