Do I contact midwife?

I'm 23+2 and still feeling minimal movements. I've still not felt a proper kick and flutters last for only seconds at a time a couple of times a day. I have a posterior placenta and it's my first baby, I'm not sure if that makes a difference to feeling movements... is it worth contacting my midwife? I'm seeing her in 2 weeks time anyway and I don't want to seem annoying with stupid questions!

Yes, always :) please always get checked for reduced movements, I have been in several times and they have always been very nice and will never make you feel like you shouldn't have gone in. As it says all over your notes, please go in for monitoring!

Also I'm not an expert but my friend has an anterior placenta which affects her feeling movements. I have a high up (fundal?!) Placenta and have felt lots of movement. Dont think a posterior should affect your feeling of movement.

Oh sorry, I read you as being 32 weeks pregnant not 23; I would still absolutely check your notes and call whomever it suggests for your gestation - for example some places have it where for pre 24 weeks your call your midwife and then for post 24 you ring straight through to the labour ward or ADAU depending on time of day.

At this time of day it would be the labour ward and they will be able to advise you what's best to do :)

In our area they don't routinely to CTG for movements that early, but they always say to call up and they can listen in and check for the heartbeat.

Usually it's around 24 weeks they say to start monitoring movements etc.. Baby is still small and even feeling little flutters is normal at this stage esp with it being your first pregnancy .. Of course nothing wrong with you from contacting midwife if that will help and put your mind at ease she may even get you in earlier than 2 weeks. There will be info on movements within your folder.
