Pain in bump

Hi all. I'm 35+3 with my first baby and last night I started to get quite bad pains in my bump. It went on for about an hour and I had really intense pain right in the middle of my bump for around a minute, then it would fade away and start again about 5 minutes later. Baby was kicking away like mad during it. Just as I was about to ring triage it stopped and I was so exhausted I fell asleep. No problems this morning and baby movements are as they usually are. Has anyone else experienced this or have any advice? Thanks very much in advance.

Ive heard you can often get ‘tightening’ pains around tummy/stomach/bump before labour. I also got told it can be a sign baby is lowering jn preparation for labour later on. Could just be old wives tales, im only 18 weeks atm and read alot of posts about ‘signs’ of labour to prepare me what pains to look out for so these are what i found out. If you feel ok this morning id day its normal and nothing too worrying. Put your feet up and enjoy the last few weeks relaxing before the hard work starts 😊xx

Thanks everyone. I called midwife who said I should have called triage last night. However everything seems okay today but if it happens again I'll phone triage immediately.

Always ring in.

They never mind you going in and would rather see you and have everything be ok than have you feel like you should "wait and see" or feel like a nuisance.

Always ring and get it checked :)
