When did your baby's head engage in first pregnancy?

Hi,
I'm 37 weeks exactly and had a midwife appointment today.
When I was being measured the midwife said that the baby is not engaged, she described him as being 'Down but not in', and she seemed quite surprised that he wasn't engaged yet.
We had a listen to his heartbeat, which was quite fast at first. The midwife said it was because she had probably pushed on the side of his head and that had upset him. His heartbeat did calm down after that.
She told me it's all nothing to worry about but they want to see me in two weeks anyway.
I've been googling because I'm a rather anxious person, though my mum reassured me that none of her kids were engaged at 37 weeks.
So, just to put my mind at rest, when did your first baby engage? Did you feel it 'drop' at all?

Hey don't worry about it some babies don't even engage until labour! I think my DD engaged at 39 weeks sometime, I'm now on my third he wasn't engaged last week but since this week my bump has dropped really low and I'm getting stabbing pains in my bits so I'm guessing he's engaged now x

No idea with my first as he was emergency c section at 34 weeks, but my other two didn't engage until I went into labour.

I had a CSection at 38 weeks, they checked that morning and she still wasn't engaged 😊
With a lot of first babies they won't normally come until after 40 weeks so most of the time midwives aren't really that concerned 😊

I had my 32-week midwife appointment and asked about when it's normal for baby to engage. She told me that some do it really early on and stay there, some will engage and then move again a few times and sometimes it only happens during labour and any of the above is normal.
Also, my baby's heart-rate went up while she was listening because the gel and the midwifes hands were really cold and baby didn't like it. She listened for a while as the heart-rate came down again. She was really pleased with this because she said the rise and fall of the heart-rate is a really good sign of a healthy baby reacting well to 'exercise'.
