Has anyone recently been induced due to reduced movements?

Hi everyone,

I'm currently 32+5 and have had 6 lots of CTGs and a growth scan because of reduced movements. Although I'm 'passing' the criteria for a normal CTG each time, we're only getting a few movements felt, sometimes just one on occasion, and other times they're not even audible which has led to my consultant raising the suggestion of delivering at c. 37 weeks. This was at 5 episodes and I've now been booked in to see her again on Thursday - long story short, just wondering if anyone else has ended up actually being induced or elective c-section early for the same reason? How many weeks were you and what was the experience like? Did you find it easy to make the decision? Was it even a decision you felt was a choice at that point? Any insight gratefully received

Its 2 years ago now, but I was induced at 40+6 for my third episode of reduced movements. It wasnt even given as an option, I went in to be monitored, they scanned me and half an hour later I was being induced! Baby arrived 5 hours later. Slightly different because I was overdue so they didnt think twice about induction as that stage, but things would have been very very different if baby hadn't been born then and there. If they are suggesting induction I'd go for it, as baby not moving is a sign of distress. 37 weeks is full term, so should all be fine. Hope you get to meet your baby soon!

I was 20months ago. 4x reduced movement episodes. 40+1

Ask lots of questions and they should scan /hook you up to ctg regularly until 37 weeks. If anything flags up they may induce you earlier.

The rfm concern is the placenta not working effectively so keep doing what your doing and listen to your baby, always go in if your concerned.
