Recently found out I’m pregnant with first baby and really struggling already - turned off by food, constant indigestion, bloated and most worryingly SO fatigued. I know every pregnant is different so try not to compare myself to anyone else but wondering if there is anything I can do? Don’t want to feel like this for the next 9 months! Thank you

First trimester was the worst for me! It gets better.

  • sleep as much as you want/can
  • avoid constipation like the plague. Fibre supplements like Fybogel are better than nothing (lots of laxatives not recommended in pregnancy) and remember to drink loads of water
  • indigestion - stuff like Rennie's and Gaviscon -type remedies can be used pretty much with impunity. If you really want it sorted though, see a HCP for omeprazole or similar.

I couldn't believe how bad I felt in the first few weeks ("Baby is the size of a pea, how can it be doing this to me?") but for the vast majority of people things do improve around about 12 weeks.

I'm the exactly same! I went from full of energy at 4 weeks to a couch potato by 5.

I've (thankfully) not had morning sickness but do always feel full and bloated, a bit out off by food and absolutely bloody EXHAUSTED. But, I'm 8 weeks now and the fatigue is definitely improving - I'm no longer falling asleep at my desk.

I have a dried prune or two at night which keeps me regular and I've been told to drink more water.

My integestion has eased a little too, but I would only get it at night when I went to bed (no matter how early I ate dinner).. Id just try to sleep more upright!

I hope things get better for you! If you're working - I read that employers must provide pregnant women with an extra 20 min break and an appropriate place to rest!
